Rain Forest Coastal Labs Shampoo Review and Giveaway

I was not asked to do this review, I chose to do this review. I wanted to give my opinion on RFCLS so others could learn about what I think is a very good shampoo and spread the word on it by having a give away at the end of the review.

This is what Rainforest Coastal Labs has to say about their product:
HYDROCEPTBY RAINFOREST COASTAL LABS

Hydrocept products from Rainforest Coastal Labs are designed to cleanse and restore natural skin-protecting oils, as well as match the neutral pH balance of canine skin. A gentle and effective surfactant blend is used to capture and lift away surface dirt, bacteria, and dead cells. Natural triglycerides and fatty acids restore the skin barrier against allergens, bacteria and dirt while simultaneously replenishing and rejuvenating the coat. A Hydrocept-healthy skin and coat retains moisture and natural elasticity. Premium botanical oils and polysaccharides leave your dog clean and fresh smelling. Our products rinse easily and are formulated for use by hand or through professional shampooing systems.

SEVEN REASONS WHY HYDROCEPT SHAMPOO SHOULD BE YOUR FIRST CHOICE

  1. Highest Quality natural coconut and botanical oil-based cleansing ingredients
  2. Gentle, hypoallergenic and soap free. No Sodium lauryl or laureth sulfates
  3. Made with rich natural oils, leaving the coat silky and healthy. Replaces essential skin fatty acids
  4. Unique combination of surfactants, resulting in a rich gentle cleansing lather, easy rinsing and smooth finish
  5. Full of rich conditioners, including Pro-Vitamin B5, which promotes long lasting moisture and strength to the hair
  6. Designed to be gentle enough for frequent and even daily use
  7. Formulated specifically for the unique characteristics of canine skin and fur

Check out Rain Forest Costal Labs testimonials (of course Norman has something to say about the shampoo).

Chesapeake’s are known for their “oily” coats. Some say you shouldn’t bath them let alone everyday as it will strip the natural oils off their skin and leave them vulnerable while hunting in the cold temperatures.  My Chesapeake’s live in the house with us, they sleep in our bed at night and they go hunting during the waterfowl and upland bird season. The area’s we hunt in are not ideal and the dogs come out black after hunting so they get a bath. That maybe twice in one weekend. RFCLS is formulated to be able to be used each day. It is gentile enough to be used on dogs that are in the harshest environment and need baths regularly. Their coats are dull and course before a bath and after they are shiny and soft, full and thick.

Monday Mischief~Ruff Night #2

Remember yesterday for Black And White Sunday Gambler had a Ruff Night picture posted, if you missed it here it is again.

DSC_0465

Bet you all were wondering why Gman had a ruff night? He really had a ruff afternoon at the AKC hunt test he entered that lead into a ruff night. Gambler and I were running a senior stake, Glory and I were running a junior stake. First to run was Gambler, he did a double on land, the live flyer station he had a bit of a hunt of it wasn’t bad and then he lined the blind (meaning he ran a straight path right to the blind). So I thought all went well. We then went over to juniors to run Glory. She had a live flyer first and she was so ampt’ed up she was bolting a head while I was still holding her. Once the judge released us she took off ran straight to the flyer, stopped short and hunted the area. Hunted and hunted and hunted and came back without the bird. Thank you for your donation to the club. So back to running Gman on water. He did his 2 water marks great now it was time for the blind. The wind had really picked up by now and there was a cross wind going across the pond he needed to swim to get to the other side to pick up his blind on land. He started off great on a straight line then he got off kilter and headed to the nearest point (the judge’s told us they didn’t want them to get on that point). I tried and tried to get him off the point but he had his mind made up. He then went left of the blind and wouldn’t take my cast’s to the blind as once again he thought he new best where it was. He was wrong and since he didn’t listen to me he got to come back with out the bird and a fail.

Soooooo that lead to a bid of mischief of drowning his sorrows and Glory’s since she failed too in a little wine.

DSC_0464

Glory in disguise so no one knew she was hitting the bottle.

DSC_0467

Gambler “Lookie, lookie Glory what I found”! “It’s a bottle of Rivers Gold.”

Glory “Perfect, I could use a little glass of wine to drown my sorrows.”

DSC_0472

Glory “Do you think they will know it was us that drank two bottles of wine?”

Gambler “Nope, not a chance.”

The pooches party continued Sunday night as Glory ran another junior test on Sunday. She passed land but failed on water as the first water mark was a long mark across the pond up on the shore back against a tree line. She wouldn’t even get in the water. So much mischief was had by all this weekend.

DSC_0462

Gambler & Glory, “Now here we sit with a hangover”! “Instead of a three dog night we had a two dog night twice and boy it was a ruff one.”

Nothing But Norman #2

Project16 - Norman3[3]

Happy Saturday Everyone!

This is my weekly post on Nothing But Norman! This is week #2 and Norman is doing great! I might not be seeing things correctly but I swear he doesn’t have a limp in his bad arm. He is taking his Rimadyl each morning and night and feeling good. I took him with me to train yesterday. He got one bumper in the pond and a couple on land. He was happy as hell to be “back training”, even if it was only for a few tosses. My friend where I train came out to see me train and got to say hi to Norman. He thought he looked really good and he had such intense eyes when staring at the bumper waiting for me to throw it. Can’t take that retrieving gene out of him.

what happens to the flower afterwards? :P Cute picture :)

MEL says:

OMG what an awesome photo. I have to say I have never seen one like that in the hop before, or anywhere for that matter. Love the touch of color. What happened to the lily after it made it to shore?

The poor water lily didn’t make it. Once done carrying it around she pulled all pedals off of it and they went floating on off.

HEART LIKE A DOG (@HEARTLIKEADOG) says:

Is that Glory? How in the world did you get her to carry a flower?

Yes that is Miss Glory. I just threw the flower and that is how she picked it up.

This is a picture I took while training yesterday. I forgot my camera so I didn’t take any other training pictures. It was a wonderful day, it was just right temp, we had a little sun and a little clouds. We were fortunate to be able to train on a pro trainers property since he was off using someone else’s place. Gambler did so well. Glory did alright, she still has a small problem of going out to long marks in the water. I think I got her number thou, if I send her on BACK instead of her name she hauls ass out there and doesn’t look back so I guess she rather be called BACK than Glory. When I use her name she goes out a little ways and then turns around and looks at me and stalls until I call her back and resend her. Sometimes she goes on the first try and sometimes she hasn’t gone until I send her 2-3 times but when I say BACK she jumps right in so that is what I am going to try, she needs 2 more passes this weekend for her Junior Hunter title.

A little of that:

I can not believe I totally forgot about MK yesterday and didn’t include her on the post. You know she is on  my header so I need to include her.

Well here she is:

I also need to say a big thank you to Slim Doggy for interviewing me along with another blogger friend 2browndawgs, who has chesapeakes that train, run hunt tests and hunt along with Anne and Terry who own a champion Weimaraner. Slim Doggy interviewed us for insight on Fitness Tips for Hunting Dogs. They have a really nice article that you can read about on their FitDog Friday Blog. Here it is if you missed it.

I am now so but surely getting stuff up on PINTEREST, come follow along with Sand Spring and I.

That’s it for today’s FUF. Have a great weekend!

This ‘N That Thursday

this-n-that-3

Today we are joining 2 Brown Dawgs for their This ‘N That Thursday’s blog hop!

This is what she has to say about the hop,

A little of this and a little of that and everything in between…

“This ‘N That Thursday is for anything you want!  Maybe you want to post about unrelated topics, or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post, or you have awards to share, or you have one long post…anything goes!  So grab the button and join the hop!”

This has been a fantastic month for me and receiving awards. Last week I received another one from Lisa over at Dogs N Pawz.

I have not gotten this award yet so I am honored to have it. Thank you very much Dogs N Pawz.

She passed on to me the Super Sweet Blogger Award.

super-sweet-award1

These are the rules:

  • Thank the Super Sweet Blogger who nominated you.  Done.
  • Answer five super sweet questions.  Done!
  • Include the Super Sweet Blogging award image in your blog post.  Done.
  • Nominate a baker’s dozen bloggers (Lisa says, “That’s 13, for those of you who don’t cook or visit the pastry shop”).  Done!
  • Notify your nominees on their blogs.  Working on it if my internet would quit cutting out on me!

Cookies or cake? Cookies, I love Snickerdoodles, Gingersnaps, Molasses and any other ones.

Chocolate or vanilla? Vanilla, I used to hate Chocolate but now I don’t mind eating it hear and there but would prefer Vanilla.

Favorite sweet treat? Donuts, love donuts even know they are so bad for you! When people bring them to work I eat at least 2 if not three!

When do you crave sweet things most? Knock on wood I am doing really good with craving sweets since on my life change diet. I now know how many calories are in sweets so I rather pass than give up that many calories.

Sweet nickname? Jojo sweetie pie, because I am sweet as pie! Winking smile

My nominees for the Super Sweet Blogging Award are (some of you may have gotten this from Dogs N Paws, please accept it from me to as I thinks your blogs are super sweet too)!:

Last Saturday I took the dogs to Pardeeville lake to get some pictures of them in the lily pads. The pad flowers were in full bloom so I got some nice pictures. I got each dog out one at a time and took 300 photos. I picked some photos of each dog and put them together in this picture video that I added music to. Here it is:

Here are a couple photos that I really liked, you may have noticed them in the video but I wanted to really show them off so I am repeating them here.

Channel Blinds ~Gambler

I am so fortunate to have a friend that used to have a fish farm and has many channel ponds lined up next to each other. The grass around the ponds is nicely groomed, the land is even and well taken care of. The ponds have a small amount of cattail cover and some weeds but nothing that will cause you not to train. He also has one bigger pond that we use also.

Since the past week has been hot temps in the 90’s we have been going to our friends house and using his water to train so the dogs can still get their training in and not get heat exhaustion (or at least I hope they don’t).

Here is Gambler running a land, channel, land, channel, land blind. He started out on land entered one channel exited the water ran on land jumped into the next channel and exited it and got his blind on land. He came back the same way. Dogs have problems going in and out of water to get what you want them do so it is a nice idea to practice this.
