Monday Mischief~The Terrorist In Saskatchewan

I raised Gambler and his sister Marie until she was old enough to be shipped over to the UK. Since she was still with us when our Saskatchewan trip came about I decided to take both 4.5 months old puppies along with Norman with. What was I thinking you ask? I have no idea what I was thinking but it was a trip to remember!

Legs every where’s. On our way to Saskatchewan.

DSC00012

Is it morning?

DSC00068

First morning of hunting. Wondering what all those things in the field were and what is up with the ginormous geese.

DSC00087

The mischief starts by chewing on wheat stubble.

DSC00151

2 against 1.

DSC00153

Going to retrieve the goose but it is much more fun to run amuck.

DSC00201

What you talking about Willis, I am not eating the bird!

DSC00205

Who says we are the terrorist mischief makers, we are laying here minding our own business.

DSC00241

I learned this trick of flipping shotgun shells when I’m board from my dad who is watching me to make sure I do it correctly.

DSC00285

I got the bird, na na na na na, you can’t catch me!

DSC00287

I learned from little on to hike my ass up high when I poo.

DSC00323

Let me help you with that goose.

DSC00450

I almost got it.

IMG_2371

No mischief here.

IMG_2394

Lots of mischief here…..don’t eat that goose! Get over here!

DSC00547

I think I will eat this box!

That concludes our Monday Mischief Saskatchewan post. Come back tomorrow to see what else happened in the far north.

Black And White Sunday

All the post this week will be about previous hunting trips to Saskatchewan. This week John, Gambler, Glory and I will be spending a week in Saskatchewan hunting snow geese. There is no internet service there so I need to do all my posts ahead of time so I thought I would share the year’s prior events.

Happy Saturday everyone!

My humans left Thursday for Saskatchewan to do some snow goose hunting. I had to stay home this year as it was Gamblers and Glory’s turn to go. I’ve been up there 3 years so it is time for me to relax at home with Nellie and Grandma. Here are some pictures from my past trips to Saskatchewan.

Don’t you just love photo books!

I do love photo books. I have been slowly but surly getting some pictures off my computer and putting them in books.

That was so cute. Did you use treats, or were they just interested in the book?

No treats were used. I just made them sit on the chair and they did the rest.

HEART LIKE A DOG (@HEARTLIKEADOG) says:

My question, why can’t poor Nellie drop a deuce without someone climbing on her head? Have they no respcet for the pooping ceremony?

Look who is ramming Nellie in the head, it is Gman, he has NO respect at all for others. It is all about him. Since he got to wear the cape he thought his poop didn’t stink and he could do what ever he wanted to.

Human Shaming~Shame On JoAnn

Update on Ghetto car. Tuesday night I was driving home from work which is a 85 mile drive. I went to use the breaks and there were no breaks. They made a horrendous noise and I could push them to the floor board without them doing anything. Luckly I have a stick shift so I can down shift to break and slow down. I made it home just fine. When got home looked at the break fluid which was none. Filled it up and was good to go the next day. DAA adverted for the time being.

This ‘N That Thursday

We packed the truck and trailer and were off to Saskatchewan for a week of hunting. Norman, Nellie and MK wanted to stow away with us.

TARYNFT says:

Does the dog watch while the tube with the rat is hidden?

The dog shouldn’t see where the rat is hidden. They should sniff it how without knowing where it is at.

Hope everyone has a great week, the next blog posts will be pre-empted, they are stories from prior Saskatchewan hunts. I will be following up with your blogs when I get home. Be safe all and see you when I get back.

This ‘N That Thursday

this-n-that-3.jpg
Today we are joining 2 Brown Dawgs for their This ‘N That Thursday’s blog hop!
This is what she has to say about the hop,

A little of this and a little of that and everything in between…

“This ‘N That Thursday is for anything you want!  Maybe you want to post about unrelated topics, or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post, or you have awards to share, or you have one long post…anything goes!  So grab the button and join the hop!”
This past weekend Glory and I attended another AKC show. Saturday was practice for us as there was only one male entered and Glory so there was no points awarded. We have a lot to learn so since the entry fee was paid we went to gather experience. Here are her ribbons for the day.
1233564_10151727714879724_20356454_n
Glory won her class and then took Best Of Opposite.
1238135_10151728899119724_489241447_n
We went back on Sunday for another show with a different judge and this time there was one male again and another female. Glory took first in her class and then she got reserve winners against the other female. The other female took winners bitch for the point.
After the show was done Glory got to have a little fun. There was a barn hunt set up on the fair grounds so Glory and I went to check it out.
Don’t know what a barn hunt is? This is what the Barn Hunt Associationmagic1-300x181 says about it:
What is Barn Hunt?

For years, informal barn hunts have been done in conjunction with earthdog events and terrier fun days, using various rules, and as something to enjoy with no pressure on handler or dog. But these informal events have never been a sanctioned sport. The Barn Hunt Association, LLC has created a sanctioned sport honoring the traditional role of “ratcatchers” in ridding barns and properties of vermin. Barn Hunt opens this fun sport  up to any dog, of (almost) any size, type, breed or mix. In Barn Hunt, you can earn titles and placements at levels from Instinct through Master, and even Championships and beyond.

As Barn Hunt rapidly expands and grows, we want to hear from you. Join our facebook page and yahoogroup . Look above at the Events link to find fun tests, trials, training, and judge workshops; and at the club locator map to find clubs in your area.

Dogs must be registered with the BHA to enter sanctioned trials. The registration form can be linked to on the right or through the top menu.

I didn’t get any photo’s of Glory. First she got to sniff the rat in it’s cage. The rat people then took a rat and put it in a tube with holes in the tube so it could get air. It was a see through plastic pvc like tube. They placed the tube in the straw bales that were stacked up. Glory then went into the snow fenced off area and had to sniff out the rat. She went through the bales that were set up like a tunnel and then she crawled all over the bales until she found the rat. She was super excited the second time she did it she stuck her paw in the hole and pulled out the tube with the rat and rolled it around on the ground.

Something different to do and no rats were harmed during this event.

A little of that:

Since I won’t be blogging while I am hunting I wanted to make mention of Sept 28 being World Rabies Day.

I’m probably sitting in a truck bound for Canada as your reading this. I hope all my blog readers have a great week. I have some pre scheduled posts coming up while I am gone so hopefully the scheduler will work and you can enjoy Sand Spring while I am enjoying some goose hunting with Gambler and Glory.
So that wraps it up for today, why don’t you hop on over to 2 Brown Dawgs see what their up to and grab the badge and join the hopping fun!

Human Shaming Blog Hop~Shame On JoAnn

humanshaming1-1

Norman, Nellie, Gambler, Glory & MK are joining Kol’s Notes and My Brown Newfies for their 2nd Annual Human Shaming Blog Hop. This is our first year human shaming since we weren’t around last year when this fun event was taking place. Since mom has shamed us on Facebook we are going to add one of the dog shaming photo’s along with this human shaming post so you can see what she did to us and understand why now we are shaming her.

So here we go, Shame On JoAnn:

Norman shaming after he had a altercation with Gambler which costed me $1000 in dental work for Gambler!

DSC06999

1326914711298

This is Gambler’s sister Marie, she lived with us for 7 months until she was old enough to go over to the UK to live. We are in the car and about to take off for O’Hare International Airport for her ride in a plane to a foreign country.

1326914713306

The hillbilly wagon! I got to the airport and the crate I had bought was to small for the 8 hr flight so if I wanted Marie to make her flight I had to go to the pet store and buy a bigger crate. The only crate they had was a giant great dane size crate. It wouldn’t fit in my trunk. I was fighting and fighting with it trying to figure out different ways to get this crate in my car. I was struggling and looking panic ed a nice couple came to my rescue and we jerry rigged the crate to the back of my car. I had to drive down one of the busiest freeways in order to get back to the airport. It was amazing that the crate didn’t go flying into orbit. We made it and Marie had a nice comfy flight over seas.

car part

I was leaving work one night. I backed up and heard a clunk and figured something fell off my car as I was hearing a rattling for a couple of weeks. I backed up to see what it was and ran over this part. I got out of my car to pick it up and as I am picking it up my boss asked if everything was ok? I respond “yes everything is ok, just picking up my car parts” and threw it in the backseat. Away I went.

For those of you who haven’t been following me that long on Facebook more often than not I am posting up DAA’s. You ask what a DAA is do you? A DAA is a DUMBASS ATTACK which I have just about weekly. This maneuver was defiantly a DAA!

36416_403289179723_7682244_n

Luckily my friends own a auto body shop and are used to me just driving in without a appointment and asking them to quick fix my car.

Again if you have just started following me on Facebook this would be when the toyota got the name Ghetto Cruiser.

That concludes our Shame On JoAnn post for today. Stay tuned as I’m sure she will have many more DAA’s.

Thanks again to Kol’s Notes and My Brown Newfies for hosting this blog hop.

Be A Scooper Hero!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane…..it’s a Scooper Hero Gman to the scoop that poop rescue!

Scooper Hero Gman

Scooper Hero Gman

If there’s poop to be scooped Gman is the man for the job. If he finds unattended poop be sure he will find out who it belongs to, if it’s not unattended he will make sure it is taken care of properly.

Out for our daily walk.

Out for our daily walk.

Most unattended and poop left behind happens when dogs are taken on a walk. Some people think they don’t need to pick up after their dogs. They are so wrong! Everyone should be picking up after their dogs no matter where they are.

Well well what do we have here?

Well well what do we have here?

Scooper Hero Gman asks!

Mystery Poop.

Mystery Poop.

It’s unattended poop! Who left this here? Someone didn’t pick up after their pet. Gman says “wait a minute, this isn’t k9 poop” I wonder who left this behind out here in the county on the blacktop road? (Find out the mystery pooper at the end of the post)

Scooper Hero picks up mystery poop.

Scooper Hero picks up mystery poop.

Who’s poop is it is neither here nor there, we should pick up all poop we come across
so that we can cut down on the risk of spreading diseases and internal parasites.

Continuing our walk.

Continuing our walk.

Carry on gang, back to our walk. We are using the nifty The Fifth Paw poop bag holder, isn’t it cool?

Super scooper Gman to the rescue again.

Super scooper Gman to the rescue again.

Nellie has to poo.

Nellie has to poo.

This time we know who the pooper is, it is Nellie so we should pick up her poop so we don’t contaminate the soil if by chance she had internal parasites.

Opps have to wipe.

Opps have to wipe.

Sure glad I had this Fetch Earth disposable poop bag with this handy dandy wipe on it to wipe Nellie’s butt after a messy poop.

DSC06969

Back to our walk.

Back to our walk, Norman and Glory poo’ed so we now have 4 bags of poop on The Fifth Paw. If the reason why people don’t pick up their poop is because they don’t want to hold on to it then the answer would be to get The Fifth Paw and let it hold the poop for you.

Hike it up high gman.

Hike it up high gman.

Even Scooper Hero Gman has to have his turn. You all know he likes to hike his ass up high to poop so we thought we would show you it again just in case you forgot what he looked like pooping. He took his cape off so he wouldn’t get it dirty.

You didn’t forget about the mystery pooper did you? The mystery pooper would be none other than Mr. Coyote!

Mystery pooper.

Mystery pooper.

How do I know this you ask? I know this because when Scooper Hero Gman came upon the poop he tried to roll on it which told me it was a wild animal poop. We have had a pack of coyote’s hang around our property as we can hear them yipping at night. I didn’t need the dogs rolling in that poop so I picked it up!

Be pro active and scoop that poop.

Nothing But Norman #10

Happy Saturday!

image

Norman continues to do very well. He amazines me. This week he went for a walk with the gang. I needed to get photos for the upcoming scoop that poop blog hop coming up on Sept 23 so we all went for a walk. I had to let Norman off lead and walk by himself as the other dogs were walking way to fast for him. He was such a good boy and followed along.

Here are some pictures of Norman laying in his favorite spots.
