FitDog Friday~Wet Wubba Fun

This week the SS gang got to go to the lake for the first time all summer….summer you say…..what summer?

I ordered up some Kong Wet Wubba’s from Dognpawz online store where I got three of them for a steal, you know I had to get three so each dog could have it’s own. I was pleasantly surprised when they came and I had three different colors. I love bright colors and these were just perfect!

As you can see from the video the gang had a great time playing with them at the lake and a ton of exercise was had by all. We will be doing this again very soon before our summer is gone before we knew it was here.

Remember Slimdoggy Jack and Maggie celebrated their Gotcha day last weekend, the SS gang shared in their celebration and after the photo shoot they had their after the party fun, enjoy the video.

Party Go’er Blooper Photo’s

Monday Mischief~Glory’s Second Litter

Last week Glory had her second litter…..her second false pregnancy rubber ducky litter. It was a litter of one and Glory is a good momma and is taking care of her little rubber ducky.

This was the first day of her false pregnancy. She wanted to make a nest and hide the baby. Here is a video of her making a nest.

Glory had to take her baby training.

Can’t leave the baby behind.

This duck hasn’t been around since the last time Glory was in heat. They really don’t play with toys much. The day she started her false pregnancy she went to the toy box, dug around and pulled out the duck. This happens to be the same duck Nellie thought was her baby when she had false pregnancy’s. Now that Glory is carrying this duck around Gambler thinks he should have it too so he is constantly trying to get it from her.

I’m just babysitting…really….I am!

No worries, I got my baby back.

Hopefully this false pregnancy won’t last that long and the gang can get back to normal.

Black And White Sunday~First Senior Ribbon

Glory had a terrific day yesterday, FINALLY she passed her first AKC Senior Hunter test. 3 more to go! She kept her little false pregnancy ducky home for the event and she pulled it off.

Nothing But Norman #54

Happy Saturday All!

First off I have to start by saying sometimes I am a dumbass and it takes me awhile to catch on to things and I have no problem pointing out that I am a dumbass because the truth is the truth. Thanks to The Pet Parade announcing today is their 50th post I realized after they said they will be having a 1 yr anniversary celebration in two weeks so they weren’t doing anything for their 50th post. Then it hit……I did a 50th post celebration as I thought that was a big mile stone, and in doing so I completely blitzed Nothing But Norman’s 1 year Anniversary which is a even bigger mile stone. Luckily I did give away a paracord collar so we did technically have a celebration.

I started Nothing But Norman 2 weeks and one year ago after Norman was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. I wanted a way to follow his journey and to make a day just his. With the help of my friend Jodi over at Heart Like A Dog who came up with the name of my Saturday posts Nothing But Norman was born and now that he is gone I can share his pictures and stories and keep him alive in my heart and memories. I haven’t been blogging very long….ok I think 2 years with 1.5 years a lot but he still didn’t get the limelight he so richly deserves. So here’s to you Norman Happy Belated 1 year of your stories!

A couple weeks ago I posted up some flying pictures of Norman, you can see them here.

Those were from back in the day when I was a counselor at Dog Camp. It was a camp for you and your dog. I took Norman in 2007. I didn’t know how he would be with all the other dogs around because he was still intact and didn’t have much contact with other dogs. He did fabulous. On our down time we did pier jumping hence the flying pictures. We took a massage class which he loved and we got our picture taken together which I will cherish forever. I love the beach ones and have one enlarged to a 8×10 sitting in my bed room. Here are the originals in color and in Sepia for Sepia Saturday with Ruckus The Eskie. One of my bosses at the vet clinic was the owner of Dog Camp, she no longer does it so we don’t get to go with the new generation 🙁

FitDog Friday With A #K9Kamp Fire

For the past three weeks the Sand Spring gang has joined with #K9Kamp and their Backyard Fun and Fitness. The had a blast each week. Let’s have a little recap!

Week One: Rope Fitness

Rope toy’s seem to be their favorite toys while outside playing. They play tug-o-war, the play keep-o-way, they play catch and chase. Great fitness to get the heart pumping.

Week Two: Balls, Balls, Balls

Balls are their second favorite, as you can see the jolly ball is a big hit and the red one has been destroyed by Gambler (pre CGC). They will jump up in the air to try and catch the balls, they play keep-o-way and chase with them too.

Week Three: Star Drill

As for their non toy favorite of course it has to be bumpers. Bumpers mean they are hunt test training and that is their most favorite activity of all.

All three backyard fitness fun games keeps the gang in shape by building up their muscles from all the running, twisting and jumping and it strengthens their heart and lungs from all the fast movements.

The gang enjoyed this kamp and is happy to sit around the kamp fire and share their stories as well as listen to the other kampers stories on how they stayed fit this month.

Oh yes almost forgot the Kat Kounselor was active in each weeks activities also.

Before Gambler and Glory’s CGC test last Saturday I had to have a crash course in downs with Gambler. He isn’t the best at his downs. I was giving him a down/stay command when out of no where’s guess who appears? Yup MK she always has to come running when I am doing some dog training. She did her downs really well.

Mia the Labrador is coming up on 4 months of age, I believe she is 24#. She just loves when we get pheasants or pigeons out for her to retrieve. She is very birdy and wants the bird!
