Monday Mischief~What Happened To The Meowbox?

This mischief really did happen on Monday this time. It was last week Monday when John called me and told me I got a package in the mail but it was so destroyed he couldn’t tell what it was. I was freaking out and said “what the hell happened”? People were coming and going from our house as we were having the hay cut so John put all the dogs in the house and didn’t lock up Gambler, he thought it would only be for a sec. He didn’t know that his mom had put a package from the mail lady on the counter in the dogs room. While left unattended of course Gambler found the box grabbed it off the counter and ripped it to shreds. After John tells me that I asked and you can’t tell where it came from? He said “no it’s in a million pieces”. I was expecting a meowbox for MK that I won during a give away. He looked at the pieces and said “yes that is what it is”. I asked what was left from inside, he said not much. I was pissed! MK was going to get a mega meowbox and have a photo shoot and now she gets done because Gambler ate it.

Gambler Shaming Again!

When I got home John had the stuff that wasn’t destroyed on the counter and actually MK didn’t fair to bad.

The stuff that was saved.

She got a really cool recycled bowl, some very cool toys that were hand made and some of the profits from the sales help out other groups, some food and treats.

So in the end I didn’t get any cool photos with MK and her Mega Meowbox but all wasn’t lost in Gamblers stomach like I thought. I want to say thank you to Cinco and Manna over at the Playful Kitty for having this cool give away for MK and Gambler to win.

Nothing But Norman #63

Happy Saturday Everyone!

wpid-1379718718851

Right about now I am starting my vacation in Saskatchewan. Here’s to  a week of hunting with the G team. We will be having our memorial service for Norman sometime this week. Catch up with you when I get back.

This is a picture video of our hunt in Saskatchewan fall of 2010.

Norman’s been busy again at the Rainbow Bridge. Wednesday night his star shined bright as dear sweet Georgia passed over the Rainbow Bridge suddenly with no warning at all. I never got to meet Georgia as she is the dog of my best online friend. I’ve met Georgia’s mom and have a trip to Maryland planned the end of October where I was waiting to meet her furbabies. I won’t get that chance now so Norman wrap her in your paw and take her to her brother Clipper and shine down on us. When Amy told me she passed away suddenly and that her son Jake didn’t get to say goodbye as he was in school at the time my heart broke. It got me thinking again about death and which way would be the better way to go. To be able to say goodbye and prepare or to not know and have them go suddenly. I have experienced both these ways with humans. There is no easy way in death. My dad died suddenly and I didn’t get to say goodbye until he was already gone at the hospital. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and given 3 weeks to 3 months to live. She died 3 weeks later. During that time I quit work and took care of her and we talked, talked, talked and prepared. So in the end I thought that was the way to go, to be able to prepare and say goodbye. I at least could ask her questions and find out things I needed to know instead of not knowing and wondering. If it was any longer I think I would of wanted the sudden way. Nontheless it is very hard and for me I’m glad I had it each way. Godspeed Amy, Dave and Jake, until you meet again hold her close in your heart and let her memories guide you through this difficult time.

A Time for Everything
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboreth?
10 ¶ I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
The Injustice of Life
16 ¶ And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

FitDog Friday~Running In The Soybeans

This weeks FitDog exercise was hunting or more like running in the soybeans as we didn’t get anything hunting but Gambler got a whole lot of exercise running in and out of the woods, jumping over down logs, making his way through all the tall marsh grass and racing in the soybeans that were very thick at times. It was a warm day so you can see by his tongue hanging out he was really getting down to fit business.

Running in the soybeans

This is my last day of internet service. Hope you all have a great week and I will catch up with you when I get back. Peace!

Tasty Tuesday~Frosty Pumpkin Kong

I bought this Kong mold on ebay for little of nothing, shipping was more than the price of the tray. I was super excited to use it for the first time. I made Frosty Pumpkin Kong frozen treats in preparation for Nellie’s upcoming 10th Birthday on Oct. 7th.

Isn’t this the coolest?

Ingredients: Canned Pumpkin & Light Regular Yogurt

Mix pumpkin and yogurt together.

Fill mold with mixture.

Put in freezer for a couple of hours until set.

Serve to the pooches.

No pictures of the pooches tasting these frosty pumpkin treats as I am saving them for Nellie’s Birthday Pawty. More details next week.

Monday Mischief~Rides $1.00

Since the hunt test season has come to a end Gambler was thinking about all the mischief he got into and came up with a plan to help pay for next years hunt test.

He came up with Wheel Barrel Rides!

Wheel Barrel Rides $1.00

Glory volunteered to go on the first ride.

What? You want me to sign a waiver?

You promise Gambler not to push me that fast?

Get your rides here, only $1.00 to help support Gman’s hunt test season.

On to other mischief because we can’t have a mischief with just fun and game we have to have a Wrecker Wednesday in here too.

Normally Gambler is mean to Glory, he pegs her if she is too close to his stuff, he hogs the toys and pegs her when she comes close so the only way Glory can get back at him is when I let them out of their kennels she has the upper hand or she thinks and she pegs him and get’s him back for all the time he pegs her. This time she pegged him slammed him into the door to the dog room and pushed the door into the new framed certificates I just hung up and crash, the glass smashed and fell all over the place. I guess 7 years bad luck for Gambler so he will really need folks to come on over and pay for some rides!

Yesterday I asked “Where’s Glory”, could anyone spot her in black and white?

How about in color?

If you couldn’t spot Glory.

She doesn’t cause as much mischief in the field like Gambler, she lays down until a bird is shot and behaves herself. Gambler sits up as soon as he hears the geese.
