Today is also World Pet Memorial Day.

A TIME TO REMEMBER —————— They come into our lives for such a short time a time we wouldn’t trade not even for a dime Then before you know it the years have flown by and then all of the sudden we’re saying good-bye

It wasn’t that long ago we said our good-byes we held on to you tight as you closed your eyes Your spirit has flown home on the wings of a dove into God’s loving arm’s; in heaven above

Over the days we’ve shed many tears but the memories we have will live on for years We feel your presence and we know that your near you’re keeping us safe and calming our fear

We think about memories from years past when you were young and strong and ran so fast we remember all the great times that we all had how you always made us happy never made us mad

They were the best and happiest years we had we’ll always look back on them and never be sad We look forward to the time we’ll be together again and we thank the Lord for such a great friend

Now you run and play up in Heaven above cradled in God’s arms covered with his love Playing by the Bridge waiting for the day we come down thru the meadow to the bridge to stay

The love that you showed us we’ll never forget because to us you’re one very special pet You’re like a star in the dark of night always watching over us with the Lord’s light

It’s All About MK…No Chessies~Thursday Barks And Bytes

It’s all about MK, MK….No Chessies, It’s all about MK, MK….No Chessies.

Poor MK hasn’t gotten much lime life on the blog so today it’s all about her and not the chessies.

MK loves to hang out outside. I did find out the reason she want’s to be out their is probably to meet up with her boyfriend the striped cat that lives at my brother in laws house. I will see him dart off across the field to the line fence and he is traveling a ways from home so it must be to meet MK. MK also had a abscess last summer so it must of been from him. One of the many reasons to keep your cat indoors but do I listen or does MK? Nope, it’s a do as I say moment and not as I do. She is as photo genetic as the chessies so it’s all about MK today.

Thursday Barks And Bytes

Who is this cute little Labrador puppy?

This cute little bug checking out MK is my Grand Niece Mia. My niece Brittany and her boyfriend got their first puppy together. She is turning 8 weeks old on Friday and I got to puppysit for the first time Sunday afternoon. She was a joy to have and she got along well with the Sand Spring gang. MK was a little taken back because Mia had more energy then she did and she chased her a lot. Even know this little girl is not a curly dog we will be helping her owners train her and hopefully when she gets bigger hunt over her.

For Memorial Day I posted up some pictures of the American Legion memorial where my dad’s brick in memory is. When I went there on Friday the brick wasn’t in place yet so I took Grandma back on Monday and the brick was in place. Here are the pictures I took that day.

Gamblers first AKC MH test.

Last Saturday we took Gambler to his first Master Hunter test. John handled Gambler as I don’t like to get up in front of people and perform plus Gambler acts better when John is running him. Last year when John started running him we had issues with him wanting to bring the birds back to me in the gallery. I thought he was over that but it showed on Saturday that he still loves his momma and wants to bring me the birds. The land triple was first and Gambler did very well retrieving all three marks until he was on the way back from the third mark you can see him do a loop and swing wide to come my way as John blew his whistle and called him in. He then set him up for the blind retrieve and you can see Gambler looking my way and then his mind goes to mush and it was all over then. Here is the video so you can see what he did and didn’t do. Gambler ended up failing on his land blind so thank you for your donation.

We have Gambler entered into another Master Hunter test this coming weekend, so I will be hiding and hopefully he will be listening better.

EXCITING NEWS……………………………..

Just got Glory’s OFA Hip’s and Elbow’s back. She has normal elbows and EXCELLENT hips!

I never imagined that Glory’s hips would come back as a excellent. That is the highest rating that OFA is really particular about giving out. I am super excited to have my first excellent in my Sand Spring lines. Now the wait begins for another 6 months to pass before she can be bred and hopefully have a litter of puppies.

Thursday Barks And Bytes~A Treat and A Award

The Barks:

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a give away going on over at Barking From The Bayou. Melissa did a review on Little Eatz gourmet goodies for dogs and humans which was fantastic, you can read it here, so I entered the give away in hopes that I would win as I really wanted to try them as they are for humans too. Guess what????? I won!!!!!!

Thursday Barks And Bytes~A Little Bit Of Everything

First off I want to give a couple of shout out’s to a couple of blog’s I follow. First is a big thank you to Russel over at Russel Ray Photos. One day on his blog he offered a free reflection photo art of one of your photos for the first 20 people that commented on his blog. I jumped at the chance as his work is super cool and love everything he does with his photos. He just opened up his online store of Photographic Art where you can go and purchase his work.

Second I want to give a shout out to Jackie Bouchard over at Pooch Smooches. She has a hilarious blog about her life and her dog Rita. She is also a author and has two books published. Rescue Me, Maybe which is her second book published and her first book What The Dog Ate which I just finished reading. You can head on over to Amazon and get a kindle copy of this book for only $2.99. What a steal for such a great book.

This was a fabulous book, once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. She kept me on my toes and wanting to know what happened next. It was a light fun read about relationships and of course dogs. You can read all about the book on her blog here.

I won a contest! Ann over at Pawsitively Pets had a St. Patrick’s day instagram contest for a chance to win a petbox, #petbox, #luckofthepetbox. Of course I had to enter Gman in his Irish costume. This is the one I submitted.

We were so happy to hear that we won. We never got a petbox before so we were super excited to find out about it. Yesterday the petbox arrived.

The dogs are wondering if the petbox is for them or for MK.

When can we open it?

As you can see from the video Gambler was super excited to get the petbox in the mail. He wouldn’t let me open it nicely to display the contents nicely to you so you get the Gambler way.

While reading my blogs and having my morning Chai Tea Glory decided she wanted to say Hi and read 2browndawgs blog today.

Hi Thunder, Storm and Freighter!

Bear with me if I posted this up already as I have short term memory loss. I want to tell you all how excited I am to have gotten an invitation to the UKC Premier Top Ten Invitational for the second year in a row. This makes two years in a row that my boy Gambler was the #1 Chesapeake Bay Retriever in the 2013 UKC Top Ten Dog and Breed Standings. He finished his year with 16 points. When I did a search for the most points I could only search as far back as 2007. In the past years I found one Chesapeake that had more points than Gambler two different years. So that would make Gambler the #3 dog with highest points. I am unable to go to the Premier this year. It saddens me but I guess sometimes in life you have to choose what adventures you can go on. Money is really limited right now with my wrist surgery so I am saving my penny’s to take both Gambler and Glory to Canada again this fall for a snow goose hunt. I think Gambler will much rather hunt then dance around a ring, what do you think?

Since I took a gazillion pictures for the review I finally switched things up a bit and added some effects to the pictures. Usually I don’t do this as I want the pictures to be the way I took them but for something different I added effects. I think they turned out quite cool, what do you think?
