This ‘N That Thursday

Today we join our friends at the 2 Brown Dawgs blog for This ‘N That Thursday.
“This ‘N That Thursday is for those times when you want to post about unrelated topics or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post. It can be anything you want, so feel free to grab the button and join us!”
I would like to start out by thanking Misty Shores Chesapeakes again for another nomination for 2012 Blog Of The Year Award. That means I get one more star to add to my collection. I am now up to 2 out of 6 stars so thank you again Misty Shores Chesapeakes.

Here is the info about the 2012 Blog Of The Year Award if you missed it on my other post.

It is a bit different than other awards because you get to collect a star each time you are nominated. How cool is that!

Here are the rules:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

6-stars-image

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

For more information check the FAQ on The Thought Palette.

Here are our picks for this award in no particular order and we want you to know how much we enjoyed reading each and every one of your blogs last year.

Gambler and Glory had a ton of run running in the water across the street from us. This water is in the marsh right across the road from us. Normally this marsh is dry and they make marsh hay on it. Because of all the snow we have had it has melted and created a water hole that won’t be here long. So the dogs thought they better have some fun in it while they can.

Gambler and I got his invite to the 20th Annual Premier, the United Kennel Club 2012 Top Ten Finals Competition held in Kalamazoo, MI June 13, 2013.

By achieving a 2012 Tip Ten Show Dog ranking, your dog has earned the chance to compete in the 2012 Top Ten Show Dog finals competition. This achievement makes all of the hard work well worth it.

The Invite.

Gambler and I started showing in UKC conformation in July 2012, he got his show title in August 2012,  you can read about it here. This was the first time I have ever shown any of my dogs, usually I am running hunt test and getting their titles in field work not show. This was a bran new experience for me, an experience that I will defiantly keep on doing. I was so proud to have been able to put a CH in front of his registered  name: CH SHR Sand Spring Ev’ry Paw’s A Winner JH.

Gambler was the first Chesapeake to get the most points from showing in the 2012 year. He won 4 points in conformation so he was the #1 Chesapeake in the UKC Top Ten Breed and Show Standings. Here is a listing of the standings. Glory was also in the top ten but that will be another days story.
