28th Annual WI Dog Fair

It was time again for the Wisconsin Dog Fair. This year marked it’s 28th year. Badger Kennel Club was hosting this event. For the second year in a row my friend Dana and I attended so we could represent the Chesapeake Bay Retriever since it is “our breed” that we so dearly love. I took Gambler while Dana took Ruger. We had a booth set up in the “meet the breed” section of the event. This is where people could stop and talk to you about your breed. They could leave with paper information we supplied and verbal. They got to pet the dogs and of course got many kisses. It was a great day for hanging with the dogs!

CRROW – Chesapeake Retriever Rescue Of Wisconsin had a booth in the rescue section of the fair. Kathy and her non rescue chessie were there to help man the booth. Zara dressed up in Packer gear to help cheer on the Packers. She raised double digits of money for CRROW by visitors paying to take Zara’s picture. A win-win even know the Packer’s lost.

This is what I wrote for the next ACC Chesapeake bulletin:

On Sunday November 6th, 2016 Dana Sunderland and I attended the 28th Annual Wisconsin Dog Fair hosted by the Badger Kennel Club. It is held the first Sunday in November at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI. This was the second year Dana and I attended with our chessies. Dana brought Ruger and I brought Gambler, one was big and brown the other medium and light brown. We thought it would be nice to show the variance in size and color still representing breed standard since this was a meet the breed event. We talked to visitors about the Chesapeake breed and let them say hi while getting free kisses from both. CRROW was also attending for the breed rescue group where Charlie a new foster was getting love and attention form all. Kathy Ebben and Zara were helping out the rescue booth where many people stopped to take a picture of Green Bay Packer Zara. It was a fun day for all where visitors went home with more knowledge of our breed that we love. I was happy to attend this event as the WI Regional Director and will continue to do so in the future.
Mark your calendars next year for the first Sunday in November to come see us again.
