This past weekend we had another double header in the hunt test games. Riggs and Guilty were entered in an AKC Junior Hunter test on Saturday and Sunday. Riggs has 2 passes towards his Junior Hunter title (4 passes are needed) and Guilty has 1 pass. Saturday both dogs had a bad day and didn’t pass. Riggs went out on the first series which was land because he decided he didn’t want to hunt anymore and it would be more fun to leave the field by running straight towards me while I am standing on the sidelines taking pictures. Guilty had a bad day too, she managed to pass her land series and moved onto the water series. While on the water series she decided instead of giving the duck to John to give to the judge after she retrieved it she would try and hang it up on the bird rack. She took the bird to the bird rack, set it down and was having no part of picking it back up to deliver to John’s hand. Thank you very much for your donation!
Sunday was a much better day. This day I handled both dogs as John needed to be out in the field gunning for the test dogs. Both dogs had some quirks but in the end they performed with high enough scores to pass. This brings Riggs count up to 3 passes with one more to go and Guilty 2 with 2 more to go. They are not signed up for any AKC tests any time soon. I am taking Guilty to the UKC Premier so the hunt tests are on hold until July and hopefully then we can finish their titles.
All in all it was a great weekend because I was with the dogs, old friends and met new friends.
Awe well Riggs daddy did some butt head things at Junior tests too. Congrats on the passes.
Any pass is a good pass. I would think it would be awfully hot to run tests in July? Good job on each of them getting one step closer to their goal.
Canine-grats on getting a couple passes. ?Well done!
I love the camouflage ribbons! Good job ♥
congratulations!!! and very well said, it was a good day after all because you were together and you had a great time with old and new friends.
It does sound like a good weekend. When working with our best friends, you just never know how these tests will turn out. Even after all these years of agility, I go into the ring without the slightest idea if we will Q! That is part of the fun.
So glad it ended well, and you had a good time no matter what!
