A Fun Therapy Visit~Thursday Barks And Bytes

Each Friday during the school year I go to a Elementary School with Gambler or Glory and have them do therapy work. The children range from second to fourth grade. Some children I have been visiting for two years now and others this year has been their first. We visit with 8-10 children, they visit for about 10 minutes each either reading to them, petting them, or just just sitting with them. Since last Friday was a few days before St. Patrick’s day I came up with a idea to take Gambler with me and let the kids dress him up in St. Patrick’s Day gear. Glory as you can tell from previous photos doesn’t much care for playing dress up so I took Gambler as he is such a good sport and loves the attention.

Here are our photos from that visit.

It’s time to go see the children.

Ice cream treat for being a good boy.

This was a fun therapy session. I had fun, Gambler had fun and most of all it brought many smiles to the kids faces. When the children smile, I smile. I already have Gamblers clown outfit packed for our next visit which won’t be for three weeks as spring break is upon us, and good Friday so after that we will be back spreading the joy.

On a side note: I want to send a message up to heaven to my mom who died 18 years ago today.

Each and every day I miss you more and more as the one thing I miss the most about you not being here is being able to spend my adult life with you and have you see what I have done with my life. Peace and Love mom.

Stop back tomorrow on FitDog Friday to see who the 5 lucky winners are of the joint supplement Rejenease.

You can see how much Gambler enjoys being with the children. It’s a good thing you do, and I’m hoping it’s bringing up a whole new generation of animal lovers.

I’m sorry about your mom, I know she’s watching over you and so proud of you.

Thanks for joining the blog hop.

What a go along guy Gamble is, he has an awesome temperament! I am coming up on 4 years since my mom passed and 8 months later I lost my dad, so I know exactly how you feel. Miss them beyond words. They are always with me and I’m sure they know all about our lives and are proud 🙂

Sorry about your mom. My mom’s dad passed away 14 years ago and she still gets the urge to tell him stuff all the time and misses him so much. Nice tribute to her.

Oh, it looks like the kids had so much fun with that….what a great idea!

My Mom has been gone over 15 years now, and I wish she was here to see my blog. She always supported my dreams, and knew how important writing is to me. I know she’d be thrilled and proud.

Gambler is such a good sport. Barley would tolerate that for about .2 seconds. Sending love your way today, too, as you remember your mom. I’m sure she’s looking down and smiling at all of the joy you brought to those kids.

    Hi Y’all!

Oh that was fun even for us to see the way the kids dressed Gambler!

My Humans both miss their Moms and their Dads, but Moms are special. I like your memorial.

    Y’all come on by,

What a great time for Gambler and the kids. I am very lucky to have my mom although she is in NYC and I’ m way down here in the bayou. I know how fortunate I am. I also know that you have a wonderful guardian angel who knows how awesome you are as an adult! ♥
