What a Day! The 2024 Annual Wisconsin Chesapeake Fun Day (ACC WI Chessie Fun Day)

was a blast! A huge thank you to John and JoAnn Stancer of Sand Spring Chesapeakes for not only hosting over 90 plus Chesapeakes on their beautiful property.. but for their time and efforts! The Stancer’s put their heart and souls into the event, and it is truly an incredible day! They had everything covered and provided a GREAT day for ALL! From field work / a mock hunt test with marks, blinds and live flyers, upland testing / demonstration/ hunt, farm dog testing, canine good citizen work, raffles, and food trucks, to a puppy/ young dog workshop, a dog first aid seminar, hot dog bobbing, pond swimming, dog crafting, a professional photographer from Alabama (Nichole Alred) and much much more! Thank you! 

 It was wonderful to see and catch up with so many old friends and meet many new ones! I loved seeing “first time” retrievers and handlers … having fun as well as the old grey veterans strutting their stuff! A credit to the current breeders and breed itself as many “newbies” stepped up to the “line” and with no prior experience….their dogs ran through decoys, marked downed birds, and brought them back! Fun fun! To all of the volunteers… thank you for making it a great day! Have a Chesapeake?!?This is an event you will want to get on your calendar for the spring of 2025 (April 26).
