We’re gearing up for the opening of pheasant hunting this weekend. Norman loved to pheasant hunt and I loved to pheasant hunt with him. Pheasant hunting is something I can do by myself with the dogs. I can’t swim very well so I stay clear of canoes and water that is involved with duck hunting so we do a lot of pheasant hunting in the fall. Pheasant tastes great also!

Norman got to spend another year in Saskatchewan Snow Goose Hunting. He came along in his shotgun shell that was used on his last hunt. I think he enjoyed his visit. Being near me always makes me enjoy the adventures.

When I got back from Saskatchewan I went to the  American Chesapeake Club National Show Speciality where I was surprised at what I saw when I went and visited the Chesapeake Retriever Rescue Of Wisconsin CRROW. The gals at CRROW have asked to use my pictures on their item they sell on their on line store (which you can go to via the link on my side bar), of course I said yes who wouldn’t want to see their dogs out and about? So you can imagine the excitement when I saw this…..

They made their poster with my pictures!!!! I nearly started to cry as that poster is amazing and I hope it brings in many peeps to donate money to their rescue group.

I got to see Patti from CRROW on Friday and she gave me this little gift.

It’s a little Norman angel. It’s the sweetest thing ever. I have the most thoughtful friends ever.

I also got to see Pam who works with CRROW and Radar Blind Chesapeake who lives with Pam and is a rescue CRROW saved and is now living a great life. These girl are amazing with what the doctor the Chessie rescue and the animals just love them. Thank you Sue, Patti, Pam and all the others who make this rescientists a success.

There will be some big changes coming up on my blog. You will see a new look, you will see some added features. It may take me some time to get everything in order so bear with me. I’ve finally made the big step to go self hosted. I decided to not have two separate websites (one for my blog, one for my business) and combine them. So for now when you go to www.sandspringchesapeakes.com you will not be going to my website you will be directed to my wordpress blog. When you go to www.sandspringchesapeakes.com you will be directed to my new blog site and my own name of www.sandspringchesapeakes.com. If only I had about a week of free time so I can set it all up. I had a ton of information and pictures on my website and I’m feeling like a part of me is missing now. I often got comments from people looking for a Chesapeake puppy that they found my website very helpful and one of the best ones they visited so I hope I can recreate that in my blog setting.

Here are a couple pictures of Norman and Glory having fun at the pond. This was when Glory was about 4 months old.

When Norman was near any water of course he was in it, he loved the water. He also loved to stroll around the banks and look for sticks and tree roots, he would find them and then either pick up the stick and bring it to you to throw or he would grab hold of the tree root and pull until he broke it off so he could bring it to you to throw. All he had on his mind was what he could get to bring you to throw. He loved to retrieve!

More fun at the lake photos today. Norman and Nellie playing, ok so Norman is trying to play and Nellie is being a bully and stealing his toys right out of his mouth. Norman had the personality that if Nellie tried to take them he just let her have them. He was a gentle soul that way, but don’t try and do that with his ducks! A toy no big deal it’s not that important but a duck is a whole another story.
