Eastwood Sisters Rock The UKC Dog Show

This past weekend the Eastwood sisters were entered in the Dodge County Canine Club UKC (United Kennel Club) dog show. There were 2 conformation shows each day that they were entered in, Two Rally trials that Josey was entered in and on Sunday the SPOT (Socialized Pet Obedience Test) which would be the equivalent to the AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test.

Saturday’s show I was out of town so Tom’s wife Irene handled Preacher while Tom handled Josey in the conformation shows. There were two shows and Josey took first in her class and best of breed out of the Chesapeake’s entered. Preacher took first in her class and then took reserve to the best of breed. Josey went on to participate in Rally 1 Novice where she took forth place with at score of 93. She needed one more leg for her RO1 title and she got it. This club offered Total Dog also, what that is if you get a leg in a performance event as well as a conformation win you become a Total Dog. Josey got her Total Dog status and pin.

Sunday’s shows the judges picked Preacher for the best of breed winner. Each dog won their classes. Each dog with their wins from the weekend became UKC Show Champions. In order to become a show champion you must acquire 100 points and 3 competition wins under 3 different judges. The girls also participated in the SPOT (Socialized Pet Obedience Test) where they both passed and became titles in SPOT.

To do the SPOT test you and your dog must demonstrate and pass each test.

This definitely was a proud breeders moment. It’s a breeders dream to have their puppies grow up and do what they were bred for. Performing in performance events and handling in conformation to show that the breed is structurally sound is defiantly bettering the breed of Chesapeake’s. I can’t thank Tom and Irene enough for doing what they are doing with Josey and promoting Sand Spring while doing it. It cost a lot of money, time and training to get a dog to titles. So Thank You!

    Congrats!
SPOT sounds a lot like CGC?
What is loading and unloading , unless we are talking shotguns?

Congratulations Preacher and Josey!!!! How great! I would love to be on a show with you… or me and the G-man… but that would be probably too much for the judges :o)
