Jodi says:
So do you really let them eat the pheasants? Wouldn’t that be counter-productive? I mean I could so see Delilah trying to swallow the bird before she brought it back. LOL
I only let them eat the pheasant carcass when I’m not paying attention to them and they run off to who knows where and find the carcass pile. Yes it would be counter-productive and we don’t let them eat them on purpose. If I turn my back on Gambler and don’t take the bird from him right away after a retrieve he will rip it to shreds and that is a no no. I will give them scraps from animals or bones but won’t let them eat a whole fresh killed bird on their own. It creates bad habits at hunt tests. 🙁

We had all kinds of fun checking the houses and running across with wide open spaces through the snow.

We are absolutely freezing here. Bummer puts a damper on weekend fun! Sounds like you had a nice week. 🙂
So cold here to, I am a slacker and don’t get out to exercise with the dogs like I should.
Running in the snow is so much fun but since it has been below zero for a few days we can only be out for short amounts of time. Sorry to see you have to share your beds with cats, we have to too! Sometimes I sleep in a cat bed (hanging over the sides) just to piss them off and smell up their beds! Happy Friday!
Yup the cat took over THEIR beds! LOL
Those dogs look like they are having so much fun out there. Exercising while looking for crittters. What a great combination.
Thanks for joining FitDog Friday.
They have a blast, they are constantly looking into the basket to see what is in there. They are total critter hounds. Gambler even found some muskrat houses that John had missed. I do have to admit thou if it wasn’t for SlimDoggy and PetsMove I wouldn’t be out there taking pictures of their trapping adventures because it is just to darn cold and I hate the cold but I stop using that as an excuse and get out there with my dogs so Thank you.
Happy New Year to you! Love all the super fun pictures!
Lol! I love that New Years picture! XD Thanks for sharing that, I needed a good laugh!
Looks like we’ll “see you” Saturday morning
Great FUF and thanks for joining the blog hop! I swear I can only keep up because of recaps. 🙂 LOL
Thanks for answering my question. I could see Delilah stopping on the field trying to swallow the bird as opposed to bringing it back. She loves to water retrieve but I think we need to stick with bumpers. LOL
Have an awesome weekend and Happy New Year to you and the Sand Spring gang!
That looks like a fun way to get out and get some exercise in the snow. Something different is always good in my book.
Love the bed photos….it looks like our house, you never know who’s going to be on what bed, and who gets left on the floor! 🙂
Finally getting around the FitDog Friday hop- you guys rocked it in the Move-Your-Mutt-a-Thon. Way to go!
(Love the New Years and bed photos!)
