This past weekend while John was running hunt tests with Slammer I was attending a UKC dog show with Gambler and Guilty. Since Guilty received her AKC Senior Hunter Title last weekend I decided to try and finish out her UKC Grand Champion title. She has her conformation title in the UKC, after that if you pass 5 legs in the champion class, BOB or place in groups you receive your Grand Champion Title.
Gambler was entered in 2 Rally Obedience 1 events and in 4 conformation events during the weekend. On Saturday he qualified in RO1 and then he received 2 wins in the grand champion class in conformation giving him a total dog status (the big red and black ribbon). Total dog you need to qualify in a performance event and have a conformation win showing your dog is versatile or a total dog. He ended up receiving 3 wins in conformation out of the 4 shows. I excused him in his second rally 1 event as he wasn’t listening and doing too much sniffing on the ground.
Guilty was entered in 4 champion conformation events. It wasn’t her weekend as she received all reserves in the show. Nontheless we had a great weekend being at the Dodge County Canine Club fall dog show held in Beaver Dam, WI.
Congratulations on a successful weekend. We don’t do any UKC stuff, but we know a lot of people who do.
