USJ HR U-CH Sand Spring Ev’ry Paw’s A Winner MH CGCA THDN
(HRCH Sand Spring Norm Of Caroway MH x UH HRCH Hope Spring Dowry MHR***)
I don’t even know where to start…..This weekend has been such a fabulous weekend. It all started when my sister in law and I picked my friend up from the airport after a long flight over the pond from England to supper with another Chessie pal to watching Gambler J Stancer receive his AKC Master Hunter title.
Jacky came over to pick out her puppy from the Glory and Bear breeding that she will be taking across the pond with her. While here she wanted to see an American hunt test so I was able to get Gambler entered into the Manitowoc County Kennel Club AKC Master Hunter test. Gambler only needed one more pass for his MH title so we were hoping he would pull it off while Jacky was here. The hunt test started on Saturday, we took The Criminals with us to hang out, get some socialization and to have one of them win Jacky over.
The Criminals got many pets, watched many birds go down and heard much gun shots. By the second series the pups could pick out the marks before the gun went off. It was so neat to watch them. Blue was so attentive that she sat there and would swing her head each time the gun went off and saw each bird go down. After watching it a few times she then would swing her head to the third bird before the gun went off. It was such a cool site. They were so well behaved. They hardly made a peep and were such troopers hanging out for a day and a half.Once John started running Gambler in his Master tests last year after I gave up on him because he was walking all over me I didn’t go and watch because if I did he would leave the test while he was running to come find me in the gallery so I just stayed home. This weekend was the first Master test I saw him complete.
Gambler respects John and even know I did most of his training from 8 weeks on with the guidance from John and my Wednesday/Friday training pals he runs better for John. I had no problem with this as I get nervous being in front of people and I know I am the one that taught him what he knows. His Master accomplishments were a combined effort between John and I. It was a long road driven and I’m still in shock that it is over! I didn’t think this day would ever come. I knew he had the talent to pull it off he just needed to grow up enough to make it happen. Gambler is my first dog that I got to the Master Hunter level and I couldn’t be more proud to say he is amateur trained and handled. He is following in his father Norman’s paw prints by becoming a Master Hunter and done earlier than Norman did it.
Huge thanks to the judges Jason Johnson and Leda Blom who put on a straight forward test. The travel time, the time away from home was worth the ribbon and title Gambler got at the end of the weekend. Thanks to Manitowoc Kennel Club for hosting this test.Gambler has one pass left for his UKC Finished title, we will be working towards that in June and then the white coats come out to try his paw at some AKC field trials. John said “aren’t you sad that this is over” and I said “the fun is just beginning”.

Stop back on Wednesday to find out which of The Criminals is going across the pond. I am so blessed to have had my far away friend here for this huge accomplishment in my book!
Huge congratulations for a job well done!
Congratulations Gambler, JoAnn&John!!! Have a super time with your friend, while we all place a bet which pup will cross the pond :o) Easy is with his partner in crime on the mama-front, he left the ring with Mark in tow as he saw me :o( And if I go with him I feel like a humanoid kite :o)
Yay for Gambler!
Way to go!!! That is a huge accomplishment and something to be VERY proud of. Can’t wait to hear which puppy is heading across the pond. They are so cute.
Congratulations to you, John and Gambler! You must be so proud and the three of you make an awesome team. The fact that it all came together so well while your friend Jacky was here made it even sweeter. Give yourselves a big pat on the back! 🙂
Nice work, Gambler!
I am so proud for you, John, and Gambler! What a wonderful accomplishment. I hope GMan doesn’t think that he has to act like a mature adult the rest of the time. I’d miss his hi-jinks! LOL!
Big time congrats to all of you for the work and effort it took getting this title. Well done. Hopefully G-man will continue to ‘entertain’ us in the future. I’d hate to think the title went to his head. 😉
What an accomplishment by all of you! I’m so glad you had such a great weekend and got to share it with a friend too – that always makes things even better!
What a fun weekend and well done that boy!
