We at Sand Spring are so fortunate to live near (across the field) John’s parents. Ever since we moved here which was 12 years ago Sandra and Howard have been taking care of our dogs when we are away from home which is usually while we are gone working. The dogs think it is great as they don’t have to sit in a kennel for 12 hours a day and they get many potty breaks and treats from Gma.
When we have a litter of puppies Gma and Gpa (mostly Gma) come over and take care of the puppies, Gma does the work and Gpa plays with them. We wouldn’t be able to have these litters if it wasn’t for their help.
So a big thank you goes out to Sandra and Howard for all your help with this litter of puppies. These pictures were taken when they came down on last Friday to say goodbye to them before they headed to their new homes.
We are joining Linda at 2browndawgs and Jodi at Heart Like A Dog for this great blog hop.
hugs to the bestest grandpawrents of the ss-gang. it’s so greast that they are there to help you out :o)
Good job gma and gpa! I bet they will miss them. Thanks for joining the hop!
Nothing like grandparents!
That’s great! When my Dad was still alive, he used to take care of Kissy for me if my neighbors weren’t at home. Years down the road, when I need someone to take care of my girls, I call on our favorite pet sitters.
It must be hard for them to say goodbye to such cuties. Such is the circle of life though as pups move on with their new families. Well done, senior Sand Springers…nice job on all fronts. <3
Awwww! You are so lucky and so are the puppies. Grandparents are the best!
That is so wonderful. I can only imagine how hard it is for them to watch them leave though. 🙂
I couldn’t have gotten Sampson through his puppy years if my mom didn’t come over and give him a break during the day, it’s a big help.
Thanks for joining the last Barks and Bytes Blog Hop.
You are really lucky. My Gramma couldn’t take care of us, we are too strong and wild for her.
I bet they will miss them!
you are truly blessed! “It takes a Village!!” DakotasDen
Grandparents are priceless! My hubby and I both lost our parents at fairly young ages. But we had elderly neighbors who were more than happy to help us with the dogs in the past. They saved us when Shelby had cancer, and needed frequent potty breaks due to her meds, and they made housebreaking Maggie so much easier! Our beagle Kobi just loved them, and spent a lot of time with them.
Grandparents are the best. I can count the number of people I trust to take care of Barley on one hand–and her grandparents are two of those people. I’m glad you have them close by to help with the puppies–I’m sure the puppies love them just as much!
Cool!
