Friday John got done work early so he came home and took Guilty duck hunting. They went to public hunting grounds and hunted a couple of pot holes. The first duck John shot was a green wing teal it landed across the pond and was in some brush. Guilty swam out there a ways but the wind was really blowing and their were white caps on the pond so she came back without the bird. He lined her up threw a shotgun shell across the pond to make a splash so she knew where to go (she isn’t trained at handling yet since she is only 9 months old). She again made an attempt to go across but didn’t make it. John then walked around and picked up the duck. The next round of ducks came around and John shot 2 times hitting 3 mallards. He had 3 ducks laying on the pond. Guilty jumped right in and retrieved one duck, she came back and then John sent her for the second one, she swam out there picked up the second one and then the third one was flopping around so she spit out the one in her mouth and grabbed the flopping one. She brought that back and then John lined her up for the one she spit out and she wouldn’t go out and get it. John went to get a stick to throw out there and when he came back she jumped in swam out and got the bird with no help. John shot one more teal so he ended up with 5 ducks out of the 6 he can get for the day. He was really happy with her and her hunting ability for such a young age.

She sounds like a real natural. With a bit more training, she will be a real star!
Great job, Guilty! You’re on your way to stardom for sure.
Way to be awesome, Guilty! I wish I knew someone that hunted ducks since it is a meat that Bentley can eat without an allergic reaction. You are very lucky!
WOW!!! Pawsome 🙂 Woofs Woofs to you. Golden Woofs, SUGAR
