I’ll post up more of my Saskatchewan snow goose hunt later. Today I am making it short as out of town again for the American Chesapeake Club National Show Specialty.
We didn’t have as great of hunt as we have had in the past. The birds didn’t want to come close to the spread. We saw thousands of birds, they came in and then they quickly left. Some days we only shot 5-10 birds so not much retrieving going on there. In the last photo we shot 82 birds with 5 guys. The SS gang had many retrieves as we shot the most. Glory had 26 retrieves and Gambler had 18 so it was a good workout for them.
The fun and games continue every Friday with FitDog Friday, the weekly Blog Hop brought to you by To Dog With Love, SlimDoggy and Emma from Mygbgvlife to promote a healthy active lifestyle for pets (and their people, too!). Join in every Friday by linking up your FitDog story or visiting the blogs in the Hop.

Wow, seems like a lot of birds to me! Well done. 😉
well done ss-team :o) seems your christmas roast is in the freezer now :o)
Good job team!
Oh, have fun at the Specialty!
I am sure they had a great time retrieving all of those birds. Congrautlions!
Hehe! I’m sure they loved this!
When mum read this it took her a few seconds to realize what “SS gang” means — unfortunately that term brings back baaaaaad thoughts — although she was only a baby in England, back then, she thinks that there are a lot of peeps out thee for whom the term has a negative effect on how they perceive tha term!!
Wow! This is amazing. I would love for our dogs to be able to do this; it would definitely be a nice addition to their freezer.
I don’t know, that huge pile of birds sure makes it look like it was successful trip! 🙂
Hi Y’all!
Just catchin’ up with y’all. I’m back from the sitters and tryin’ to catch up with everybody.
Be sure to emphasize how BIG those snow geese really are! They’re a lot more work to retrieve than a duck.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
P.S. We’re eagerly waitin’ to hear all about the adventures in the north country as well as the Specialty!
A great workout doing what they were bred to do.
Nice job gang. Still sounds like fun. I think it may be a longer Fall this year.
