This past Monday I was off of work so of course I went dog training with my training gals. I got there a few minutes early so I got Gambler out and let him swim a bit. He was in the pond then I would throw the bumper on land. Sandy the owner of the property came over and we stood talking. Gambler came over to us and then sniffed something by us. We both looked down and there was a little white kitty just standing in the middle of Sandy’s property. We both asked each other where it came from as we didn’t see it walk over to us. Gambler continued to sniff the thing and it didn’t get upset so I picked it up and it started purring and doing happy paws… it was all over then!
Hi I’m a little boy and my name is Bones, that’s Johnny Bones to you!
We put the little kitty in a dog cage with some food, water, blanket and litter box.
We continued our training day. While training was going on a neighbor lady was walking down the road so Sandy asked her if the kitten was hers. She said it was not hers and it’s been hanging out at her house. She said no one was claiming it.
There aren’t many homes around Sandy’s so we had no idea where this little thing came from. It must of been hiding in the woods and when it heard us talking came out to say “hey I’m down here, please help me”.
We spent the rest of the morning deciding who was gonna keep this thing. Sandy contacted all her nieces and sisters and no one wanted a kitten at this time.
We went to lunch and after lunch I said I would take the kitten. Wasn’t sure what I was gonna do with it but I agreed to take it.
This little guy was so good in the truck, never made a peep. Starting it up and the noise from the engine didn’t bother him at all. He even went to the car dealer to talk trucks.
I brought him home and set him up for the night in the shed. I knew he didn’t have fleas but it looked like he had ear mites and intestional parasites so until he was vet checked he was staying away from my animals.
The next day I loaded up the little kitty and off to work I went. He was examined, treated for his diseases, vaccinated and all set to go back home to stay. I will be posting up about his vet visit later.
Tuesday night I named him Bones. A guy from John’s work named him Johnny Bones so I thought since John hates cats but secretly likes them I would name him that because of John.
Wednesday I was able to be at home most of the day to watch Bones and introduce him to the other animals in the house. I brought him into the house and the introductions started.
The dogs were curious on who this little thing was intruding on their space. They would go up to him and he would hiss and spit at them so they would back away. They were afraid of him so they stayed their distance. MK finally made it to the living room and saw the little guy too, she sat there and just watched him, he was under a bed and he would growl and hiss at her they were at a stand off. The day went well so came the night, Bones was left to run free in the living room the dogs went to bed with us and MK did her own thing. Everything went great and we are onto a new day.
Bones adapts well to everything. He traveled to meet friends, he met dogs and another cat. Met more people and all through it he continues to purr. He strolls around the house like no ones business and he comes by me and lays on me, he purrs and sleeps with a little love biting going on. I think he will fit in just nicely at the Sand Spring home.
He sounds like the kind of kitty that will fit right in at your place! Lucky little fellow.
Welcome home Bones! You are going to love being a part of the Sand Spring Gang! Congratulations
you are THE best!!!! thanks for giving johnny bones a home ;O) I’m sure he will be a super addition to the ss gang… and even creepy doll head like him ;O)
That’s a lucky little fella!
It seems like cats are great at finding you when they are looking for the perfect home. 🙂 What a cutie, and it sounds like he is settling in very well!
