How much wood could a Chesapeake chuck if a Chesapeake could chuck wood?
Glory would be happy to answer that question!
This is the wood pile outside our door. When we let the dogs out to go to the bathroom Glory can’t run past the pile without grabbing a log then carries it out into the lawn. She can haul some pretty big logs around, we say she is building up her neck muscles to carry back a big bird when she needs to.
We had a little bit of snow last week so besides getting into the wood pile mischief they had some mischief in the snow playing with their sticks.
I spend more time carrying Glory’s mischief wood back up to the deck just so she can carry it off again. I guess it’s good exercise for both of us.

LOL, that’ probably is good exercise for them. What is it about stick and the bigger the better!
That’s funny! Guess it gives her something to do! She sure did move a lot of it from the porch. Too bad, she doesn’t bring it back!
Lol.Glory’s wood pile is awesome:)
Oooo! Wood pile! Thanks for the reminder! Time to chop and stack …
I’d build my own pile to Glory! Woooooowoooooooo!
OMD! You need to train her to bring the wood to the house!! Retrievers… ours always have to have something in their mouths 🙂
Oh boy! Be careful you don’t get splinters from all that wood!!!
Glory, do you mulch it too? Lewis is the King Mulch Mouth. It makes me crazy… Next time help mom by grabbing it from the Yard pile and bring it to the deck. 🙂
What a blast! And in the snow too. I wish we lived in Idaho all year round (instead of only July) so we could have snow too. ~Cooper from 2catsandacattledog.com
LOL that is hysterical. Good one Glory!
LOL…yes, I’d say that makes a very good exercise routine for all of you! Our lab mix Maggie used to love to carry logs around. Our golden Sheba might like them, but the logs stay on the porch now where she can’t get to them. too bad, I could use the exercise too. 🙂
That’s so funny! But, yes, good exercise for you both! Now that we’re obsessed with counting our steps, I’m thinkin’, ‘Hey, that’s more steps!’
Now that is funny the dog moving your wood pile! Nice work!
Now that is funny! I like how the other two dogs look all innocent on the porch.
