Happy Saturday All!
When going through my photos of Norman to see what he was doing at this time a few years ago I came across my bear hunting photos. WI bear hunting is September-October. I have a friend that has some really great bear dogs (coonhounds) so I went up by him hunting. I was going up during the week while John stayed home to work. Since I was traveling alone I took Norman with me to keep me company and so no one bothered me if I needed to make a stop and rest somewhere’s. He was such a great travel partner, I miss that feeling that no one could hurt me if Norman was near. The hunt was a success and I have the memories of Norman to go along with the bear that is now in my living room.
It was amazing to watch these dogs work. Anytime you can watch a dog do what it was bred for is such a joy.
Have a great weekend all!

Oh I can see you together in the car… I bet he was the perfect co-pilot :o) It’s great when we have the one on your side, who is the kid, the assistant and the BFF.
Holy moley! That is a huge bear! I’ll bet Norman was glad that he didn’t have to retrieve it! LOL!

What great memories! It is the best to have a canine co-pilot who keeps you safe!
Good old Norman. I bet he wished he could have helped get the bear.
I know the safe feeling, My hand raised Tyler was sweet, loving, he was with me everywhere. He never bothered anyone, but he was right there if someone got close. Noone got to touch his Mom unless I said ok. He was my life for 8 years:)
Those are wonderful memories to have of your best friend and love:)
Was that a downward dog stretch?! Happy Sepia Saturday, Ruckus the Eskie
