Happy Saturday All!
Today I wanted to share my new duck and goose calls that John and I got from one of our puppy buyers, their son Justin made these call for us. Justin from Sleepy Hollow Custom did a fabulous job. Since Gambler is Norman’s son I decided to share them with you today on Nothing But Norman. Gambler is engraved on the calls as well as Sand Spring Chesapeakes. These were very special gifts a person could get! Thank you Jeff, Linda, Justin and pooches Carly and Baylee (puppies from Glory/Thunder and Glory/Bear). This fall they will be getting used out in the field.

On a sad note the Rainbow Bridge gained another Chessie angel yesterday. “Silas” was a handsome boy that was an excellent competition dog, hunter and family dog. His life was not long enough passing away at 8. Only the good die young and the dogs only fault is that they don’t live long enough. My heart goes out to his family during this time of loss. Run free Silas, may the birds be plentiful and the wind at your back. Say hi to Norman for me!
Where to Bury a Dog
But there is one best place to bury a dog. If you bury him in this spot, he will come to you when you call – come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death and down the well remembered path to your side again.
And though you call a dozen living dogs to heel, they shall not growl at him nor resent his coming, for he belongs there. People may scoff at you, who see not the lightest blade of grass bend by his foot-fall, who hears no whimper, people who may never really have had a dog. Smile at them, for you shall know something that is hidden from them.
The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of his master.
The calls are fabulous.
Sorry about Silas passing .
My signature since The early 90’s when I came on the internet has been

that are super gifts… I would like to hear them once, maybe when you take a hunting video :o) I’m so sorry for Silas and his family… it’s so sad when we lose such a friend and family member :o(
Those calls are beautiful! They are definitely a special gift.
We are very sorry to Silas’ family for their loss. 8 is far too young to go.
Whoa…those are some beautiful calls with gorgeous craftsmanship.
Sorry to hear about Silas. Seems there have been waaay too many bridge crossings lately. My thoughts are with his family and hope tender moments and sweet memories comfort their loss.
I love your duck calls. They are beautiful. I’m sorry about SIlas; eight is way too young to leave. The poem is very touching.
