Happy Saturday Everyone!
This week I had a sad day. My sad day was putting up Christmas decorations (I hardly ever put up decorations) but I thought I needed to this year as I got two beautiful ornaments in memory of Norman so I needed to display them. I had a little Christmas tree that I got out and set up by Norman and hung his ornaments on it. I put his stocking by him and his bandanna that his friend Kathy got him last year. When I was going through the Christmas decorations I found all the stuff I bought on clearance after Christmas last year and in it were 4 Santa hats and 4 stockings that I was going to make for each dog this year. It was sad I had 4 items but only 3 dogs. So I improvised and I put a hat on MK. It is times like this that I miss my soulmate.
TRIBUTE TO A BEST FRIEND
Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor…
then I remember,
It’s where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound…
then I remember,
It’s where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can’t be yours…
your golden voice is still.
But I’ll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I’ll wrap these treasured memorials
In a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

I feel with you, think my heart would break when I had this wonderful ornaments in my hand. I’m not able to watch old videos of our dogs, although we have Easy and it’s been 4 years that we had to say good bye to our beloved Huskies.
So sorry for the loss of your huskies, that’s quite a change huskies to a weim but what a great choice you made.
My pup Simba, before Ku and Nalle, will forever be by my soul too. Blessings to you and Norman’s spirit!
Thank you! There are the special ones but they all leave paw prints on our hearts.
Oh, what a lovely tree and ornaments for Norman. I bet he can see it from where he is and I bet he loves it. A wonderful tribute to a dear friend. Miss you, Norman!
Oz
Thanks oz, you are a good friend.
Sweet memory. We haven’t really done decorations or a tree in years either – since our Sally passed…but did this year and feel better for it. Pretty sure it’s Maggie first Christmas and Jack – well who knows, but I think they will like it.
I think Jack and Maggie will like it too and I’m so glad you decorated and that you feel better about it I sure do after the sadness wore off of putting it up.
Love the tree ornaments. I know Norman is looking down on you loving his ornaments and the tree! When our Phe crossed crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, our son’s girlfriend told me that God needed Phe to help him with the little children in heaven. I’m sure that is what Norman is doing too and having a blast! Hugs!
Your son’s GF is a wise gal, keep her!
The holidays unfortunately can renew our sad feelings. Every year when I get out my ornaments and see the one with our Maggie’s name on it, I tear up, even after 9 years. Then this year I had added to that getting out Moses’ also. In a way it gets easier, but in a way it never does.
Sorry for your losses, in a way I hope I tear up many years from now, so I know I won’t forget.
Thank you. That is a great way to look at it, and you are right, we don’t want to ever forget.
Thank you! No we don’t ever want to forget.
It is so pretty. Sorry it made you sad.
Thank you Linda!

Oh I wish I were closer! I would wrap you up in a giant hug and then take you out and we would laugh and have a good time and we would talk about Norman and laugh and cry and it would be ‘all good.’
Sending you hugs my friend~
It would be good if you lived closer but it is great that you live far away and I have you in my life, thanks for being here.
My human mommy had tears and chills for you as she read this. Almost 10 years ago, she had to say goodbye the Talbot, the Golden Retriever who preceded me, just a few of weeks before Christmas. To tell you the truth, she doesn’t even remember Christmas from that year, the only one ever when she didn’t decorate. It’s so hard, but I am happy to see that you have Norman’s special little Christmas spot this year. He’ll be right there with you this Christmas and every Christmas to come.
awe your poop mom, my heart goes out to her too. Peace
