Happy Saturday All!
On Thursday 11/6/14 marked the one year mark of saying goodbye to Norman. I’m sure in time the loss of Norman will get better but I have to admit I’m not there yet. What keeps me going is my Saturday Nothing But Norman posts. Even know he is gone, I feel this is therapeutic. I didn’t get to write much about him before he passed away so this is good for me to write about him now, sharing my memories, pictures and video’s of him. He was one hell of a special guy and I want to share him with the world. So the Nothing But Norman’s post will continue on.
In previous posts I told you how I had Norman’s ashes reloaded into spend hulls from shot gun shells I used during hunting in Saskatchewan the last year Norman went with us. This year I told you how I took those shells back up to Saskatchewan and shot them off in a big wheat field we were hunting in. Norman’s final flight was being laid to rest where he loved to go and have many retrieves. May you run free in the wide open fields under the beautiful sunrises and sunsets in a land where there is no end to the snow geese retrieves.
Here is Norman’s final flight picture video and the short video of Norman being laid to rest.
There are some who think it’s foolish to weep
Over a cherished pet in eternal sleep.
But those poor souls are truly blind
For they know not of the creature kind.
But you who devoted so many years
Deserve the time to shed those tears
Over the loss of your furry friend
Whose life on earth has come to an end.
And may the tears that you now weep
Sow loving memories forever to keep.

I’m also joining The Pet Parade today.
I understand and I feel the same :o( It’s a wonderful video, although I cried the whole time. But to cry for a fabulous dog is no shame, even tears can be a sign of honor …
As I’ve said before many times, Mom still gets teary eyes over her Trine and it has been 11 years. There is nothing wrong with tears. We still think that is such an awesome idea and tribute with the ashes.
That is a FITTING TRIBUTE to your BELOVED NORMAN.
What a wonderful life Norman had. Even after he was gone you gave him the best.
I think it’s great that you continue these posts and keep his memory alive.
Such a beautiful, loving tribute to a beloved member of your family. Cried all the way through it because it brought back so many memories of those precious dogs that shared our lives and have gone to Rainbow Bridge. The tears never stop for those we loved so dearly.
🙁 oh my dog, I cried watching that video 🙁
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
He sure had a wonderful life.
Oh, JoAnn, when I finished watching the beautiful picture video, tears were just streaming down my cheeks. I remember last fall when you had those final pictures taken with Norman, and I absolutely love them. The two of you had such a special bond. He was a special boy and I loved his final flight. So perfect for him. I’m not going to tell you that it gets easier with time. It gets different, but it’s never easy. You’re in my thoughts.
