A couple of weeks ago I took the gang pheasant hunting on public hunting grounds. Preacher is part of the gang now so she gets to go along also. Even know she hasn’t been trained or even picked up a pheasant before I take her along to get some exercise and to follow along while hopefully learning from the big dogs.

We didn’t get any birds this day to bring home to the table, all dogs flushed up birds (except Preacher) to far ahead or in really heavy cover so I didn’t get any shooting at them. It was a day out and about getting exercise while enjoying the beautiful colors of the leaves on the trees. The leaves are all falling now so the color is fading.

Is that possible that a young pup can learn to hunt from an older dog? or is that always a case of no cross, no crown?

So cool she gets to hang out with her own mom! We see the fields and just think, “tracking”. It would be great for that too!
That must be so fun to have a multi-generational family…all teaching the youngsters. Love that goofy grin on Gambler, he’s such a happy guy.
