Since the puppies have left the nest Preacher is all by herself and time for her to be crate trained. She wasn’t too fond of the crate the first couple of times I put her in it. I thought I should give her something to do while she was in there to keep her mind off being crated. I made some banana peanut butter snackies.
I took a couple of banana’s mixed peanut butter with them until nice and creamy I then stuffed a kong toy froze it and put it in her crate for her. It kept her busy since it was frozen she really had to work at getting it out ( forgot the pictures of this part).
I then put the mixture in my paw print mold put it in the freezer and made some paw pops for the gang to snack on while outside on a hot day.
Preacher thought her first tasty treat was awesome. She didn’t know what paw pop to eat first. Little did she know she only got two then she had to share with the rest of the gang.
You can tell by her ears she loved them and wanted more.
On a side note I have to give a big shout out to my bestie on the east coast, this weekend Amy her family and Chesapeake Poppy went to a dock diving event. Poppy did great during the two days and received her AKC Junior Dock Diving Title. This is Poppy’s first title at 8 months of age. Amy said they are hooked! Great job Poppy go get that next level title.
Crate training, so difficult yet so important. Soon though, she’ll think of it as her home!
Oh, lucky Preacher got a fabulous filled Kong! That’s what Ma did for me when I was being crate trained, though she didn’t freeze the Kong. I bet Preacher will take to the crate in no time!

Holy YUMMY!!!! Mom fills our Kong but she’s never put it in the freezer, what a great idea!!
That is awesome for your friend and her dog! Love to watch dock diving!
Preacher knows that she is one lucky girl! I’ll have to make the Kong treat for Pierre. He still gets crated when we leave because he loses his mind over the squirrels in our backyard. LOL!
These look delicious!
What wonderful pictures and such happy healthy pups and grown ups 🙂 bless her heart she is growing like a weed! ..and by the way pop by my bloggie today…i think i may have a little something for you 🙂 Hugs Bev xx
Those look like yummy treats. Congrats to Poppy. Great job!
Thanks JoAnn!!! We sure had fun! Looking forward to spending some time out in WI with you all! 🙂
I absolutely have to pick up one of those paw molds! Gah…too cute for words. And congrats to your friend and Poppy. That leap was amazing! Sam still wonders why dogs actually jump into water–he of ‘not in 87 million years will water see me in it’ notoriety. 😉
Simple but sounds yummy! Preacher should adjust to that crate no problem with great treats like that.
Congrats to your friend Poppy. Dock diving looks like so much fun for dogs, and I love to watch it.

Hi Y’all!
Yummy, yummy!
When they have dock diving events here in the southeast it’s always too hot for me to risk the car trip and wait.
Y’all come on by,
