Trish, Roxy and AKC Scent Work.
AKC Scent Work is a sport that mimics the task of working detection dogs to locate a scent and communicate to the handler that the scent has been found. Scent Work is a positive, challenging activity that allows dogs the opportunity to use their strongest natural sense in a way that is fun, engaging, and that builds and strengthens a foundation of trust between the handler and dog. ~AKC
Roxy has been rocking the AKC and CWags venues in scent work this fall. She has received a bunch of ribbons and titles to boot.
On October 8th she received 2 legs in AKC Scent Work containers and 2 legs in buried hides. Last hide she got in 2.7 sec. She received 3 first place ribbons and 1 third place. On October 19th she received an invite to the Eukanuba Nationals for distance jumps and air retrieve.
On October 21-22nd she received 4 first place ribbons, 1 second and 1 third place ribbons along with 2 titles AKC Novice Container (SCN) with one being 4.8 second find and AKC Novice Buried Hide (SBN) and her first leg of exteriors. On November 2nd she received her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and last but not least on November 11th she received her Level One title and two legs toward level two in a CWags trial.
This past weekend Trish and Roxy set out to get their AKC scent work interiors title and they did it. She got 7 placements in the trials with 3 first place ribbons. She needs 2 more legs in exteriors and she will complete her Scent Work novice titles. I have no doubt she will get this very soon.
This girls nose and dock jumping is on fire, she is doing an excellent job with the scent work and dock jumping venues. Besides a good sniffer she is an excellent jumper with being invited to nationals and a model citizen as well by passing her CGC test. An all around girl! Congrats to Trish and Roxy for all that they have done together and will continue to accomplish.
She sounds like a real busy dog.
Wow! That is so impressive! Bentley and Pierre want me to buy them some ribbons to hang on their kennel, now. LOL!
Woof, woof…well done, Roxy!
Roxy you are a superstar!!! Congrats!!!
Impressive!
I think one of the most amazing thing about all the successes your puppies have had is the variety of sports they excel at! Great job, Roxy!
