This past weekend Slammer and I ran his fourth AKC Junior Hunter hunt test. John has handled him to his first three passes. John refused to enter anymore hunt tests as hunting season was starting so if I wanted him to complete his title I needed to handle him.
Needless to say it was hairy and he had me holding my breath a couple of times but he pulled it off. He was the youngest dog running in the past four hunt tests he was entered in. He is the first of our Sand Spring dogs to go 4/4. He entered his first hunt test a week sooner than his father Norman did and he ended it with his title by 7 months of age. Because the way the tests were scheduled we didn’t finish Norman until he was 10 months old. I think this little guy is on the right track!
Sand Spring Throw The Book At Him JH “Slammer” went 4/4 just after he turned 6 months, he passed his last test right on 7 months receiving is first AKC Title. He is now a Junior Hunter. Thanks to Madison Retriever Club for hosting and to our judges Tim Bauknecht and Ruth Bruskiewitz for the test and ribbons.
Congratulations to Slammer, and to you as well for successfully handling him! He has a bright future for sure!
