Slammer’s First AKC Junior Hunter Test.

On August 18th, 2019 Slammer ran his first AKC Junior test at just a bit over 6 months of age (you need to be 6 months to start competing).

Waiting to get into the holding blind.
Checking out momma from the holding blind.
Watching the first mark go down.

The land series was first for Slammer. In the junior test you have one live flyer and one dead duck thrown as singles. The live flyer was first this day, he went out and pegged the mark, picked up the duck and brought it back to John delivering it to hand.

And he’s off.
Bringing in the bird.
John asking him to heel in with the bird.
Handing off the bird to the judge.
Coming back with the second land mark.

Slammer was called back to run the water series.

Waiting his turn.
The first water mark – The Slam Dunk
The return.
The delivery to hand or the junior grab according to some.
Going for the second water mark.
Of course if you run on land you can get to the bird faster than swimming.
Is it on this side?
I see it! The Slam Dunk #2.
I can fly.
The return, of course not swimming.
It’s all about the fastest retrieve.
Here I come to save the day.
Delivery to hand.
Giving the bird to the judge.
I think that might be a pass.

It was a pass, Slammers first AKC Junior Hunter pass. What a fun day it was.
