Today Glory is one year old. UCH Sand Spring No Gut’s No Glory. Glory was born 12/4/11, her mom is HRCH Sand Spring Hurricane Nellie SH, her father is CH Port Side’s Great Xpecations MH. She was the first born out of 4 girls. This was a very carefully planned breeding as it was going to be the last litter I had with Nellie and I knew I would be keeping a puppy from this litter to carry on the Sand Spring line. I researched and researched DC/AFC Bertram’s Blazing Firewater MH line and knew I wanted a puppy from Blaze’s line. I was lucky enough to meet Ron & Ginny along with Lefty at the 2011 American Chesapeake Field Specialty. Lefty is a Blaze son, I chose Lefty because of his pedigree both mom and dad are accomplished and measuring up Nellie’s pedigree with Lefty I thought it would be a perfect match and would have some really nice pups that would do what they were bred for which is hunt and run competition along with being within breed standards.
Nellie came into heat the end of September so that meant she couldn’t go on our snow goose hunt in Sasketchewan. It turned out when running the progesterone tests that she would be ready to be surgically AI’ed the day we would be scheduled to leave to Canada. We kept out plans and Grandma was nice enough to take Nellie to the reproduction veterinarian to have her surgery and kept her at her house while we were gone. 33 days later we got a confirmed pregnancy and on 12/4/11 the sisters were born.
