To finish off the post here are a few pictures from last Saturday’s hunt test. As you know Gambler was entered in a AKC Master Level test. The first picture is a photo of the test set up from way back in the parking lot where our truck was parked. The second picture is of our truck and I was standing dang near on the roof to video tape Gambler running (no I’m not in the truck in the pic). The third picture is a half ass drawing of the test so you can see what Gambler was suppose to do. I’m not at good as my diagrams as 2browndawgs is but it’s a start, right?
The first series out of three series was a walk up to the handler start point on the photo, the first mark came out from that blind in the middle of the photo and fell along the shore where it says “first mark”, the second mark came out of the same blind and landed on the grass where it says “second mark”, and the third mark was way off to the right of the photo and that was a live flyer. Once the live flyer was shot and the judge released your dog then you could release your dog to go get the marks. Gambler stepped on each of the three marks and then had to run the land blind which was up the middle on the land where it says “land blind” he had to go just side of the old fall that he picked up. Once he delivered that bird to hand he had to do his water blind which means he should run across the land and jump in the middle of the water where I have a very thin black line drawn, he should of swam down the middle of that channel to the spot where it says “water blind” and come back. He never made it into the water as he would take off and run the right hand side of the bank of water and wouldn’t get in the water as he was checking out that blind with the good smelling birds in it. For that you get a F and a thank you for your donation to our club. We will get them next time!
I have to give a big shout out and thank you to Jenna over at Owned By A Husky. I won one of her contests and got this really cool dog decal from Stylish Canine. I might just have to put this on my new car when I get it.
Come back tomorrow to see what the gang was up to for FitDog Friday this week.

the birds of your neighbor are wonderful (and they have cool decoration pieces) / that must be a really good story what Gambler heard from the kids, his ear is the proof :o) Mia is a uper cute pup, how sad that they are puppies only for such a short while :o) Next time Gambler will get an A+++ , maybe he tried to make it more interesting? / I bet the dog decal looks great on your new car!
The pea fowl are beautiful. Congrats on a succesful year of dog therapy with the kids.
oh the peacock pictures are fantastic! Glad you could recover em lol, that one picture of Gambler really shows off those awesome collars you make, ask him to advertise em!! The photo of MK is beautiful. Keep up the great photography I just love it!
Thanks so much for joining the hop! Oh my that is a hard Master test. Those under the arc blinds are difficult and with a pile of birds right there well I can see why G-man had trouble. I guess the judges wanted to get the tough stuff out of the way first series!
I like the peacock strutting his stuff for the Packers guy.
Gambler looks like he was really enjoying all the attention! Love his collar!
I love the collar as well! It stands out beautifully!!
The Peacock photos are just gorgeous! I have seen them a few times up close when I was a kid, one of our neighbors had some, and I just couldn’t get over how gorgeous they are! And they seem to know how gorgeous they are to and play the part well!
Thanks for sharing about your winnings!!!! I am so glad you like your decal!!!
Can’t wait to see it on your new car!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Great photos except for that nasty GB Packer in some of the Peacock ones 😉
Well you can’t win all of them, right? Gman looks like he was enjoying his time with the kids.
What happened to your car? I thought you got a new one?
Thanks for joining the blog hop, have a great weekend.
Love the peacock pictures – so pretty. And G’man, what a nut, hamming it up for those kids. Good for you. Are you going to breed Glory? Next cycle?
All of these are such wonderful pictures! Do the dogs bother your neighbor’s birds? I’m pretty sure Barley would be heartbroken when I wouldn’t let her check them out. My fingers are crossed that Gambler is more successful on the next test! When Barley and I did the therapy dog test, she did EVERYTHING beautifully (even avoiding the food!), but the test was outdoors and it had rained the night before and my little diva refused to down in the wet grass, so we failed. And now she’s gotten so clingy for some reason that we haven’t bothered retesting because I know supervised separation would kill us, so I know how it goes to lose out on the testing fees 😉 (Good thing they’re cute, huh?)
Good thing they are cute indeed! Thank you for stopping by. Maybe one day you and Barley can re test and get out and do some therapy work.
Sorry Gambler didn’t do better this time, but I know he’ll get there eventually. I think your diagram and explanation of what he needed to do was great!
