Duke is a 2 year old Chessie in a shelter in MO_New Madrid area. He needs to get to a home or at least a foster home, but he needs to be the ONLY dog. He loves people and even kids. He is a big boy at around 90 pounds. He knows sit and shake and walks on a leash well. He is neutered, and current-he has tested pos for HW which the shelter will treat. He was in a home so has been house trained also, and still remains clean in the kennel. His family could not care for him financially . Because he needs to be the only dog, he has been there awhile and will be one of the first to get pts when that time comes- also this breed is not in high demand in that area.
For more info, e-mail me at sue@crrow.org and I will get you the contact info.

This is from CRROW facebook page: I rec’d word there is another Chessie (DUKE) down in Mo that needs help. He has been there 6 months and they feel he will not find a home in MO-he cannot go to a home with other dogs, but I was told he loves people so much, even kids. He is 2 years old, and weighs about 90-95 pounds. He has been neutered, and up to date with shots, but will need to get HW tx- They will do the tx if he has a place to go. Animal control is giving him time to find a place to go, but that won’t last forever-and he will be one of the first to be pts if that time comes. We do not have the situation to foster him where there are no other dogs at this time. If someone has a no other dog home and are looking for a Chessie to adopt-transport can be arranged.

Duke is beautiful. I hope he finds his forever home real soon. Hey…don’t forget to enter the blog hop so you will show up on everyone’s blogs! You probably just forgot which I do a lot when I join blog hops! Just want to make sure Duke is seen by as many people as possible and thanks for joining the hop!
It is so sad when families have to make that very difficult decision and give their dogs up. Breaks my mommy’s heart, and she and I hope that Duke finds his new loving home very, very soon.
Hope these two find foster or adopt homes soon 🙂
I love that you do a shelter animal edition! Duke is sooo soo adorable! I WISH THEM LOTS OF LUCK!
Thank you, I hope he gets a home too.
It’s so sad. How can people have a dog in their home and then surrender him? I hope he finds an out.
I really hope Duke finds a forever home real soon. Hate when our brown dogs have no place to call their own 🙁
Hope he finds a place.
Duke is lovely! Sharing.
Thank you.
