One afternoon while part of the guys went out scouting Mike and I stayed at the farm house to have supper ready for when they got back in. I had the dogs locked up in the bedroom where John and I stayed.
Mike and I were in the kitchen talking and I look over into the bathroom and take a double take. I saw Gambler standing outside, my jaw dropped and I said to Mike “hmm Gambler is outside, he is suppose to be locked up in the bedroom what is he doing out there”? At that time Gambler had pushed open the back door and came running into the house by us all happy as a lark.
I went upstairs to see what happened and to check on Glory and Guilty. I walked in the bedroom and I saw Guilty out on the roof and when she saw me she came climbing through the window. So that is how Gambler got outside, he went out the open window onto the roof and jumped off the roof. Luckily Guilty was smart and didn’t jump.
I thought I seen it all and I’m thinking now I might have but again we are talking about goofball Gambler and he can always pull something out of his butt! He didn’t get hurt at all from his jump off the house. He wanted to be by us and nothing was keeping him back I guess. He was the talk of the night and I will never forget the look on his face as he peered into the house at us!
Mr. Nine Lives will strike again I’m sure of that!05
Oh Wow! What a clever/naughty fellow.
With Gambler, it wouldn’t matter most likely, but we never have windows open anywhere in the house without a screen on them. It would be easy to push through, but we don’t try stuff like that. I bet Gambler would. We don’t even usually push open a door that isn’t open quite wide enough for us. We wait for Mom to open it a bit more.
You girls are so well behaved, gman needs to take lessons.
Houdini!
Remind me never to get Gambler and Woolsey together!
2 winters ago this January here on the Cape we had snowfall after snowfall
So much we coujdn’t see out of all the windows and the snow kept piling up.
One morning after a blizzard the brown dogs went outside to do their business.
I opened the door to let them all back in.
Codger Hannah and Scout were at the door but not Woolsey.
My eyes went to the barn roof.
There was Woolsey at the peak of the roof
Probably 20 feet in air.
My heart did a leap!
She had climbed up on a snowbank of about 6 feet from one side that has a saltbox roof line .
The other side did not and there she was at the tallest part.
She ran down the one side of the roof and then said to me ” that was fun Mom”
The rest of the day I was busy getting that bank removed near the barn.
Woolsey, like Gambler is a mountain goat!
that is a awesome story, did you get pictures?
No I didn’t .
I was freaking !
I’m glad that “prison break” ended good… G-man you are the king of entertainment, that’s for sure… and very creative…
Wow! That is a big jump so I’m glad he didn’t hurt himself. Never underestimate the GMan ☺
Oh my!!! That would not be good!!! Hope everyone is safe and keep the window closed!
Take care,
Alicia
he was safe and he continues to climb on things and jump off. thanks for stopping by.
Maybe those aren’t simple paws, they are more like Mercury’s winged feet. Here’s hoping he stays unhurt in 2017.
yes unhurt that is the key
Are you sure he is not part cat? LOL – or at least he thinks he is!
He is lucky he did not break his leg. Always something with the silly boy!
