This weekend 2 of the Sand Spring gang went to a UKC Conformation dog show, it was put on by The WI Boston Terrier Association. I took Guilty and Riggs. Guilty has been shown before in UKC Conformation and accumulated her 100 points needed towards her title but she didn’t have any of her competition wins. You need 100 points and 3 competition wins under 3 different judges. Riggs hasn’t ever been to a show so this was going to all be new for him. There were no other Chessies entered so it was Guilty against Riggs for best of breed and the competition wins. Since I couldn’t handle both my dogs in the breed ring at the same time I had a handler on Guilty for three out of the four show weekend. Michele did an excellent job, Guilty took all three shows with Michele handling. For the last show I handled Guilty and took her fourth win for the weekend. It was a girls weekend and we will try again with Riggs in the next show coming up in May.

Now on to her grand champion. A great weekend was had. So proud of Guilty who just turned one the week before.

Thursday Barks And Bytes~A Treat and A Award

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a give away going on over at Barking From The Bayou. Melissa did a review on Little Eatz gourmet goodies for dogs and humans which was fantastic, you can read it here, so I entered the give away in hopes that I would win as I really wanted to try them as they are for humans too. Guess what????? I won!!!!!!

The dogs loved these treats and so did I. So far I only tasted the cinnamon crunch and it was delish. I think these treats will be great to keep in the truck on training or hunt test days so I could give the dogs a treat and if I am hungry I can have a snack too. Thanks Melissa for the give away and the yummy treats.

Thursday Barks And Bytes

Barks: Valentine bloopers. Last Friday and I shared some Valentine photos for my This Moment~See Beautiful post which you can see here. Today I will share a couple of bloopers because you know we all like bloopers.

Bytes: MK got a Valentines from her friend Luann at work. Luann makes dog and cat items you can check her out on facebook at Luann’s Critter Creations.

Some hugh thank you’s are in order. Last week and then again this week I was awarded some awards by a couple of awesome bloggers. I want to thank both Jenna from Love is being owned by a Husky who awarded me with the Excellence and Best Blog Around The World awards then M.K Clinton from Barking From The Bayou awarded me the Best Blog Around The World award also. I am super thrilled to have gotten these awards so please stop on over and check out their blogs. Gambler and Glory had a ton of run running in the water across the street from us. This water is in the marsh right across the road from us. Normally this marsh is dry and they make marsh hay on it. Because of all the snow we have had it has melted and created a water hole that won’t be here long. So the dogs thought they better have some fun in it while they can.

Eleven facts to know about me (or my dogs):

1. I have owned Chesapeakes for 12.5 years with Norman being my foundation stud.

2. I compete in UKC and AKC hunt tests and have titles for each of my dogs at various levels.

3. I just started showing my female Glory in AKC conformation shows.

4. Gambler was the #1 dog in the UKC Top Ten Breed Standings for 2012.

5. Glory was the #6 dog in the UKC Top Ten Breed Standings for 2012.

6. I am not a writer, I just fudge my way through.

7. I love to take pictures.

8. I am a Veterinary Technician and work 1.5 hrs from home because I love my job so much.

3. What is your funniest travel experience ever? When I went to Omaha with my girlfriends many moons ago we needed to take a cab so we got a cab and joked around with the guy about if he was a ax murder and if we were safe in his cab and he asked our names and I said I was Bertha Big Butt and then that got into a whole other skit and laughing the whole way to our destination. He wasn’t a ax murder and a fun taxi cab driver. This happened when I was 18 so I wouldn’t dream of doing anything like that today!

4. Which food do you cook best? Crab & Shrimp Boil

5. Your favorite song? Seasons Of Love by Rent Soundtrack

6. Which place do you recommend me as a Must-See? Country sides of London.

7. How do you spend your time in transportations while traveling? Reading or playing on Google Nexus.

8. What is a global issue that you worry most about? Don’t worry about the things I can’t change alone.

9. Your favorite blog post? They are all so great they all are my favorite.

10. What is the last restaurant you have been to and how was it? Perkins, breakfast was darn good at supper time!

I’m new to blogging and following other blogs, I love to read about what others are up to with their furry friends. Thanks again Misty Shores Chesapeakes, I would be happy to pass these awards on to the other great bloggers out there.

5. I ran my first AKC Senior hunt test this past fall and passed with Gambler one time.

My Award from Misty Shores Chesapeakes

I have been awarded an award and would like to thank Misty Shores Chesapeakes for nominating this blog for the Blog on Fire Award. She has a great blog about her adventures with her chesapeakes and much more so go on over and take a look.

The rules for the award are to share 8 unusual things about yourself and/or your pet and pass the award along to other bloggers.

1. I really don’t know how to write.

2. I have the worst grammer ever.

3. I am a licensed Veterinary Technician that also has worked in a taxidermy shop.

4. 3 adult chesapeakes sleep with me and one puppy under the bed.

5. I drive 1.5 hours one way to work at my part time job.

6. I love to watch Days Of Our Lives with the pooches.

7. Gambler is the first of my chessies that I have run a AKC Senior test with.

8. I drive a beater car because I spend all my money on my dogs and can’t afford a new car.

Since this is my first acceptance award I am stealing Misty Shores line: For this award I would like to offer it to anyone who would like to have it. You are all so wonderful and are truly on fire!!

I would like to take time now to say a thank you that is long over due to Long life Cats and Dogs they gave me a award a month or two ago and I never followed up on it as I really didn’t know what I was doing with all the extra’s that you can do with blogging so for that I am sorry and want to take time to thank them now.
