Without Norman I wouldn’t have this wonderful family.

If Tears Could Build a Stairway

 

If tears could build a stairway,

and memories a lane.

I would walk right up to Heaven

And bring you back again.

 

No farewell words were spoken.

No time to say “Goodbye”.

You were gone before I knew it.

and only God knows why.

 

My heart still aches with sadness.

and secret tears still flow.

What it meant to love you-

No one can ever know.

 

But now I know you want me

to mourn for you no more:

To remember all the happy times,

life still has much in store

 

Since you’ll never be forgotten,

I pledge to you today-

A hollowed place within my heart

is where you’ll always stay.

    I love that last color picture. I don’t know why, but it just popped out at me! I wish I could get my troups to stay still long enough for a picture, but Scout would be the only one that would lay there:( The other two aren’t very photogenic! Have a great Saturday!

    The reflection photo is just lovely, as are you. That poem always chokes me up, it is perfect for Norman. Thanks for linking up with the Pet Parade too! It’s good to know that y’all can finally let the gang dive in the water.

    What a beautiful poem. My family dog’s 3 year death anniversary is coming up in a few days. My mom is still mourning so I may share this with her on that day. I’m sure we’ll both be crying like babies but I hope it’ll help her heal. 🙂

    Beautiful family photos. I just love that poem, brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. We have all been there and will be again while our hearts hurt from missing those we loved and lost.
