Pregnancy Ultrasound Results ~ Part 3

In part 2 of Glory’s breeding series I talked about complications post ai, if you missed it you can read about it here. We didn’t know if Glory’s pregnancy was going to take. It was very worry some for us. We wanted Glory to be healthy and alive but we also wanted her to be pregnant as we have some puppy buyers that would of been sad if they had to wait longer for a Sand Spring pup. I’m always thinking of others feelings where as John is thinking about our feelings and Glory’s. During this whole ordeal with the infection John would say she is our dog, our life and we need for her to get through this and be healthy, if she isn’t pregnant there will be other puppies but there may not be another Glory. I admitted he was right that Glory was our everything and she is what mattered most but I still couldn’t bear to tell the puppy buyers there wouldn’t be a puppy for them.

Dead fetus, no structures in the black circle like the others. It will be resorbed.

Live puppy.

Tuesday January 9th, 2018 was the happiest day of the year for us. Glory had her pregnancy ultrasound. When I told the Dr who was doing the ultrasound what had happened to Glory after her AI he said “oh boy that doesn’t sound good and doesn’t sound to promising for a pregnancy”. We were all wrong and surprised by the results, one, two, three, four, five possibly six fetus counted. Glory was indeed pregnant, she beat the odds! The first photo is of a dead fetus. You can see the fetus is black there is no structure in it that shows it is alive like the remaining photos. That fetus he said was most likely gone a couple weeks ago, the body will resorb that fetus and Glory will be fine. The other fetus’s were alive and well. We could see the heartbeat in them. You can’t get an accurate count on a ultrasound it is mainly to check for pregnancy and yes, yes she is pregnant. My worries of telling puppy buyers of bad news are over for the moment. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It’s time to enjoy Glory’s pregnancy and watch her grow. She will be due February 10, 2018.
