With the start of the 2017 school year Sand Spring Chesapeakes therapy visits start as well. The kids went back to school last week the dogs go back this week. They got to take the summer off now it’s time to visit with the kids, I know I missed it so I can imagine the dogs missed it too.
Since I have three therapy dog I will be rotating them out with the visits. Today Gambler and Glory will be going to the visit. We will be going to Fall River Middle School, Tom will be using Gambler as his R.E.A.D dog for the visit as his dog Josey is in heat and can’t visit.
I’ve got their bags pack with their new book marks so we are ready to put some smiles on the kids faces.
I’m proud to have a mother daughter team and another daughter from another litter also doing therapy work. It makes my heart smile.

I love that you do this for the local schools. It will encourage reading and help any kids overcome their fear of dogs. Way to be awesome!
I love it too! It was a great feeling to help the kids.
LOVE your bookmarks. What a great idea especially for dogs in the reading program. We have ‘business cards’ for our therapy dogs, but I love the idea of a bookmark. I may need to create something more clever than the business cards. Do you use a special program to print them up? Or do you order them from a source?
Thank you, it was fun handing out the bookmarks today.
We like our classes, but Mom would not like to do therapy stuff at schools, so we won’t be doing that. Enjoy your classes.
You gals fulfill so many other areas.
Wishing you a fun-filled school year! Our Visiting Pet Program takes the summer off, too, so this past Saturday was our first day back at the nursing home we visit. The smiles on the residents’ faces were amazing. I’m sure the children at your school were just as happy to see Gambler and Glory walk through the door today. Good work. 🙂
Thank you, enjoy your therapy year as well.
You do so much with your dogs! i feel lazy 😉
The Book markers are PAWdorable. Harley and I are meeting with the CHS airport next week to discuss the hospital therapy dogs doing a few shifts on Wed before Thanksgiving. There dog work is so much fun and so rewarding!
You definitely should be proud! That’s so awesome. Wish we’d had therapy dogs where I went to school!
I bet this is a wonderful school year for all kids… and I’m sure reading with the G-man is THE event of the year ;O)
Wows, they get to visit with school kids! What ages are the little humans? I bet they can’t wait to pet Gambler & Glory! It will be the highlight of the kids’ day at school, fur sure!
Everyone looks ready for back to school!
