UKC Gun Dog Group 4

UKC Gun Dog Group 4, what does that all mean you ask?

It means Guilty was awarded a 4th place ribbon in the Gun Dog group at the UKC Conformation show we attended this past weekend. Guilty is a champion in Conformation already, I entered her in the dog show so Riggs would have competition if he ended up winning the show. There are two shows each day when a club is hosting a show weekend. The second show went like this: Guilty was entered in the champion class, she was the only dog entered so she took the champion ribbon. Riggs was entered as a class dog meaning he doesn’t have his champion title. He was the only dog entered so he got first. Guilty and Riggs then needed to go in the ring together so the judge could judge them together and pick her Best Of Breed winner. The judge chose Guilty as her Best Of Breed winner so that meant Guilty moved into the Gun Dog Group ring and was judged against the other Best Of Breed dogs in that group. When you get first in the group you then move into the Best In Show ring to find out who will win the whole show. In the group ring they award first through fourth place. Guilty was awarded fourth place out of 7 Gun Dogs.

I was super proud of Guilty! This was her first placing in a group ring, and I was the one that showed her!

It was a great weekend. I even took Glory so my friends daughters could show her in the Junior Handler class. Since she was already there I entered her in the champion class on Sunday. She was the only dog in her class so she won the champion title. We didn’t beat out another dog but it was nice to get back in the ring with her and get some ring time in.

It was a great weekend at the Central Wisconsin Kennel Club UKC dog show.

That is so cool! I used to love when there weren’t many German Shepherds showing in confirmation back when I was showing. LOL!
