Thursday Barks And Bytes With A Woof

BB3

The co-hosts for Barks And Bytes are Linda from 2browndawgs and Jodi from Heart Like A Dog.
The Barks:
A hugh thank you goes out to Lisa, Teddy, Scout and Diesel over at Dogs N Pawz . They were having multiple Unbreakoball giveaways and we were lucky enough to win the last ball they were giving away. I really wanted to win this ball to put it to the Gman test. Gman is a ball wrecker and has chewed up many balls so I was super excited when I got the email that we won.
Oh we wonder what is in this box?

WOOF co-hosts… Oz The TerrierRoxy the Traveling Dog and Wag ‘n Woof Pets, thank you for this blog hop.
WHAT IS WOOF?
WOOF, Working Out Our Fears, is an online group for reactive dogs and their owners to seek support from others who are dealing with similar experiences.
The Woof theme today is:  “What I Love about My Reactive Dog”.
This is my first WOOF blog post and I wanted to share “What I Love about My Reactive Dog”.
My reactive dog is Nellie. She is reactive in a couple of ways but today going with the theme I will tell you that I love that Nellie is the best “alarm/guard dog” in our house. Any little noise that she hears and thinks is coming from outside she goes ballistic. She will jump up out of a dead sleep to go bark at what ever she heard just to alert us something might not be right. She has done this her entire life. At times I will admit it drives me nuts because if you “burp” she will think it came from outside and she will go into attack mode and bark, bark, bark. When she does alert us that someone is outside outweighs the over barking at normal noises. I am glad I have Nellie to alert me as I know with her barking and carrying on an intruder might think twice of coming in, for that I love her.

Thanks for joining our hop today JoAnn! I think that reactive dogs do make pretty good watch/guard dogs too. Oz will bark at anything…ANY THING…that comes on to our property which is great, except when it is a leaf blowing in the wind. LOL And Oh My Gosh…I just love Gambler! He is a hoot! I bet Oz wishes he could run around carrying a big box like that!

OK, did I ever laugh at the end of that video!! It was fun watching Gambler open his package too, and it looks like the ball was a hit. I’m going to have to get one for our crew.
Thanks for joining the WOOF hop too. I think having a good watch/alert dog definitely outweighs any bad things about reactivity. Cricket is usually over the top in her barking too, and she is now teaching Luke to be that way. But the way our house is set up, we never hear anyone come in the drive, so it is great to have them let us know when someone is here, and I feel far safer when my hubby isn’t home.

I bet you guys will really get good use out of that ball. We got the smaller one, but we aren’t hard on balls. We are waiting for cousin Lena to come and play with it!

That video was so funny. First Glory running off with the box, then Gambler’s little leap over the ball . . . just before he “made it his.” 🙂 And good for Nellie being the alert dog, except when she’s alerted by burps!

LOL I think G-man made sure everyone knows that ball is his! Might be your best video yet! Nellie and Storm are a lot alike. Storm is our watch dog. But that is what Gary breeds–old time Chessie. 🙂 Thanks so much for joining the hop.

We love our Unbreakoball! Pierre tries in vain to pick it up but he can’t so he can’t kill it! He also wakes out of a dead sleep to attack some unheard stalker! HAHA

What a great win! Fun to watch your dogs playing with it too. 🙂 Toby has a similar hard plastic ball, and it is one of his favorites!

Your dogs are gorgeous and Nellie is adorable!! Look at what white hair around her eyes and muzzle. My Rummer who passed away in March, was my reactive dog. That girl would alert me to incoming “anything and anyone” minutes before they got home. I called her my early alarm system. My Jack… not so much. lol
