CRICKET
Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Black Labrador Retriever Mix: An adoptable dog in Appleton, WI
Large • Adult • Female
Cricket is a 3 1/2 year old female Chessie/Lab mix. Cricket was bothering chickens, so she had to leave the farm. She is ok with other dogs, and loves people. She also loves kids. Cricket is learning new things, as she was pretty much an outside, fend for herself dog before she came to CRROW. Right now she is very starved for attention. She loves water, is all current on her shots and is micro chipped. She is working on her house training.

What a pretty girl. A retriever bothering chickens? Who would have thunk. Hope she finds a good home.
I don’t know what most people think. lol
Cricket looks like such a wonderful dog. I do hope she finds a brilliant forever home soon.
I do too.
Beautiful girl, and she sounds so deserving of loving chicken-free home!
She does, all shelter animals deserve a home.
Poor Cricket, I hope she finds her forever home.
Whatever did they expect? A dog who spent her time outdoors with no training bothering farm animals. LOL the stupidity of some people.
Some people!
Hi Y’all!
People who think we are outside fend for yourself dogs should be put outside to fend for themselves in all kinds of weather.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Your so right Hawk. I always feel bad for the dogs tied to a tree day in and day out. 🙁
She looks like a great girl, sure hope she finds her forever home soon.
You are so right Hawk!
Me too.
We have had trained every big dog we’ve had not to get the chickens. So I don’t understand why they could not teach her. You will probably lose a chicken or two in the beginning but they soon get it. Just my personal opinion, that’s all.
I agree with you, I have 4 chesapeakes and also chickens. They now go in the chicken pen and don’t even bother them. It can be done.
I mean “We have had to train”.
She is beautiful! Our Chesapeake doesn’t chase anything. Maybe she is lazy! Anyway, I’m thinking that Chessies are such smart dogs that if they would have spent some time training her, I’m sure they could have fixed the problem. Humans give up too easily.
