DOC
This guy would like a hunting home. He is 7 but I’m sure he still has a few good years left. I of course saw the marsh grass and thought I need to help this guy find a home.
Chesapeake Bay Retriever: An adoptable dog in Appleton, WI
Doc is a 7 yr old neutered male Chessie. We are assisting his owner to find a home for Doc. Doc’s owner is needing to move to an apartment and cannot take Doc with him.
Doc has been an outside dog, however, he would transition to inside fairly quickly.Â
Doc is current on his vaccines and is chipped. He is HW negative also.
Doc has been professionally trained to hunt both water fowl and upland, however, he prefers water fowl and has a touch of newly diagnosed arthritis in his shoulder, so water fowl would be easier for him. He is trained very well, and should have a few more years of hunting left in him.
Doc is good with other dogs. He is ok with people also-but is a Chessie and will bark when someone new comes to the home.
Doc is a gorgeous dog and will make a great companion for someone. He has however never lived with children.

This is a great initiative. I wonder how this model could be replicated elsewhere.

Doc is so lovely! Sharing.
Hi Y’all!
Hey, you bet there’s lots of good years left in Doc! I’m 7 too and my Human says I’m as active as when I was under 2 yrs! Don’t count us middle aged fellows out!
Paws crossed for you Doc!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
No you sure shouldn’t count them out.
He is gorgeous. I hope he finds a great hunting home. Wish I knew someone looking for a hunting companion.
I bet the fact that he’s professionally trained for hunting will give him an edge when it comes to finding a new home. Good luck Doc!
I really hope to the hunting training will find him a home.
Good luck to Doc! Wooooowooooo, Ku
Doc is very handsome, as pretty much all Chessies are. I really hope that he can find a good hunting home just perfect for him.

Oh paws crossed that ole Doc will find a new loving home. Thank you for helping to re-home him so he doesn’t have to go to a shelter!

Such a handsome boy! I hope he finds a new home in time for hunting season. It must be so difficult to be forced to make a lifestyle change that cannot include your beloved pet(s). My mommy couldn’t even imagine.
Doc is beautiful. I hope he finds a home real soon. I shared and I voted for Glory this morning! Thanks again for the shout out for Phe!
