FINALLY! The weather has broke, the freezing cold and snow has disappeared and the pond opened up! The SS gang was happy to see the open water when we took our walk to the pond last weekend. They all jumped in and started swimming around like they never saw water before. Glory would jump in swim to other side, get out and jump in again. She was having so much fun. They didn’t need anything to entertain them or to get them to swim but I did throw a stick a time or two to give them some retrieves. Swimming is a really great exercise to keep dogs fit. It is especially great on dogs with arthritis or recovering from a surgery as they don’t have the constant pounding on hard ground as they do when they walk/run or jump on land.
Here are the pictures from our day at the pond.

Flying Glory! that’s great! I would like to watch you (from a distance, of course), bet you had tons of fun!
Tons and more of fun. you can come by anytime and swim with us.
They are having so much fun leaping into the water! Donna can take a leaf or two out of their books… no instinct to leap into water over here 😛
They would be glad to teach her.
I had NO clue it was national pet day!!!! hahaha!!! Sheesh!
YAY for water play!!!!! Well it is starting to look like spring round here, but definitely not time for water yet! Beautiful part of the post at the bottom there!!!! Just loved it! Especially the “no guts no glory” part!
I have my trusty blog calendar I made up to keep track of all the pet dates. If you would like I can add you to the list so you can view it.
Great shots! Looks like they’re having so much fun!! Especially love the “Flying Glory” shot!
Glory has been a big nut with the water, she is having a ball.
Wow, that water is open! Most lakes and ponds around here still have some ice, but it is melting fast. Love the water shots!
It’s a small pond and I am so happy it is open. They are calling for snow on Monday thou.
It’s just terrific to see water dogs truly doing what they were meant to do…
Thank you, they love water so much.
Who could resist those pictures? I’ll bet that’s cold water, good thing they have thick furs for it – and love to see the dogs shaking off the water too!
I love shaking water photos too.
So much fun! And look at those smiles on their faces. 🙂
They have been so happy to finally get to swim.
They look so darn happy – and that water must be freezing…but I bet they love it! Great photos. Thanks for joining the Hop.
Oh they love it, it is cold when they come shake on me.
Wonderful pictures. Our ponds just started opening this week. But can you believe they are calling for snow showers on Monday? Of well it is supposed to be beautiful tomorrow, so we train!
Hi Y’all!
I’m catchin’ up with y’all. Glad to hear things are meltin’ your way.
Love Glory’s JH photo shoot.
My Human has been suffering from a migraine this week and struggled to make a business appointment midweek, so I’m really behind in reading. It’s difficult nursin’ a human.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog

Swimming already … is the water cold? Pawsome, so much FUN! Beauty Glory. Happy Seeing Beauty. Golden Woofs
Oh, what great photos of them having so much fun! I especially love the huge splash one. Sheba is so jealous….she can’t wait to go swimming. And I can’t wait to find out if Luke is going to like the water.
Looks like so much fun! Can’t wait to get Ash in the water. Of course, she is the only one of my three that likes the water. Scout and Teddy aren’t too fond of it!
They look like they’re loving it. So glad the weather’s better for you & your pups. Happy FitDogging
