What kind of mischief do you think these two hooligans are up to?
Did you guess chasing the Guinea Hen and putting it up a tree?
This Guinea Hen is one of three that are mine to live on my farm and eat the wood ticks and scare away rats. During the winter they migrate to the farm down the road. Guess they like her barn better than mine. Each spring they come back and it takes the dogs awhile to realize they live here and not to chase them. This was the first day they have been back and of course Gambler and Glory couldn’t leave them be they had to run and chase them. The Guinea Hen screamed while sitting in the tree trying to ward off the mischievous hooligans.

They are funny creatures, that’s why I like them.
Can guinea hens fly that high?! I hope she didn’t have to climb! 🙂
Yes they can fly high, they don’t fly for long periods of time but they can fly high to get away from the dogs.
Naughty dogs! I keep thinking I want Guineas, but not until we have more land and less neighbors.
They are noisy buggers but I actually like the noise. They do let you know when there is a stranger danger.
They had to wait all winter to have her back so a good chase was welcome home 😉

LOL they don’t know if they are coming or going with there migration you know. They have to migrate a couple hundred of yards and that confuses them.
“We’re just doing our job, Mom,” said Glory and Gambler. And I thought the baby blue jays on my patio were exciting. Not any more. 🙂
Oh the blue jays don’t scream like the Guinea’s, that is what makes the dogs chase them.
I wanted one of those for the ticks but I know the dogs would chase them and besides Delilah would run around scarfing up their poop…LOL
